I’d like you to know: HandsOn Suburban Chicago is a
volunteer connector organization which serves 44 communities
in the northwest suburbs. We work with over 200+ schools and
nonprofits, driving volunteer resources from all types of
sources…youth, seniors, those in employment transition,
company employee programs, etc. Community engagement is
key to solving issues. As governmental funding continues to
diminish to service organizations, there is a growing need for
volunteers to help nonprofits meet mission. Businesses that
commit to social responsibility through employee volunteer
programs see benefits on many levels. We strive to measure
impact and share stories of how people are making our
communities better through volunteerism and the giving of time
and talents.
Interesting facts: HandsOn Suburban Chicago has been around
since 1969. We refer, on average, 10,000 volunteers per year.
The best business advice I ever heard: Listen more than you
talk.
The best business advice I could give: Most people don’t
follow up and exceptional follow up will set you apart from
others. Secondly, when making new connections, think first
about how you might be able to help this person. It forces you
to truly listen and good things always develop from genuine
desire to help others.

The way I plan to participate in the Chamber is: I want to
attend lead sharing events and provide low rates for chamber
