RAID
The HESCO® RAID™ system permits
the loading of preconnected lengths
of MIL™ units directly into a specially
modified ISO shipping container. This
method provides greatly increased
load-space efficiency: RAID 7 provides
333m of wall in a single box, as opposed
to the 166m achieved when loading
palletized MIL 7 into a similar container.
In a single, inventive step, this has the
potential to take up to 50% of traffic
out of the force protection supply
convoy and completely eliminate the
need for secondary packaging material.
RAID 10 and 12 provide the same
deployment capability as RAID 7, but
supplied with an overall shipped weight
limited to 10 tonnes, allowing RAID to be
used even when MHE load capacity is
limited. RAID 7 is also available in 237m
length, providing an overall shipped
weight limited to 10 tonnes. All RAID
containers allow swift deployment of
any number of units, either standard
or recoverable, ready for filling. RAID
units break naturally into 5-cell lengths,
with the removal of two pins – pull out
as many or as few units as required. For
longer walls, leave the pins in place and
hitch up a suitable towing vehicle; within
minutes, you can deploy up to 333m of
RAID 7, 224m of RAID 10 and 321m of
RAID 12, using only half the manpower
needed to deploy the same amount of
conventionally palletized MIL units.
Whether used as a secure storage system
for MIL units or a practical ‘magazine’ for
fast, one-off deployment along straight
or curved boundaries, RAID is the next
generation of force protection.
