Most soft tissue grafting for recession can now be done without palate surgery. Acellular dermis is shown to be as effective as connective tissue or free gingival grafts when used with a simplified technique that eliminates tedious tunneling. Implant site augmentation with acellular dermis generates wider attachment and keratinized gingiva around implants. Acellular dermis can be used to cover cervical caries lesions, avoiding class V cervical restorations. Platelet-rich growth factors and Emdogain accelerate soft tissue healing and generate increased keratinized tissue and predictable root surface reattachment. Presented by: Steve Wallace, DDS MHS Dr. Wallace received his B.S. in pharmacy and D.D.S. degrees at the University of North Carolina at Carolina Chapel Hill, and was a faculty member U.N.C. Dental School. He received his Master’s Degree with Honors in Periodontics from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Wallace is an active member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Academy of Periodontology. He has published original research in the Journal of Periodontology, International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, Implant Dentistry, Journal of Dental Research, Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, Journal of International Dentistry and the Journal of Implant and Advanced Clinical Dentistry on recession grafting surgery and bone regeneration. Dr. Wallace lectures at teaching institutions and national professional meetings. “Everything Dr. Wallace presents is clear, detailed and backed up by published literature. This is an excellent evidence-based soft tissue surgery course.” Dr. Mike Pikos, Pikos Implant Institute “Dr. Wallace is a skilled teacher and superb clinician when it comes to soft tissue surgery. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in adding recession grafting with AlloDerm to their practice skill set.” Course Sponsors: Dr. John Russo, Assistant Clinical Professor, Medical University of South Carolina “This was the first course that gave me the information and technique to enable me to go back to my practice and start treating recession sites immediately! I would recommend this course to all my colleagues interested in graft surgery.” Dr. Zahir Khokhar, Periodontist-Prosthodontist specialist
