Galfer USA’s Peick 5th Again in San Diego, Anderson Reclaims Sole Possession of Points Lead Oxnard, Calif. – February 11, 2014 – Round six of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season was held at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 8, and Galfer USA had plenty to cheer about during the night. Riders on Galferequipped bikes accounted for three top-ten finishes in 450SX and second place in 250SX. Peick was only 14th at the end of the first lap, but he steadily worked his way forward and moved into the fifth spot on the 20th and final lap. Justin Brayton, No. 10 Justin Brayton continued his top-ten streak, taking ninth on the No. 10 JGRMX Yamaha YZ450F. A crash on lap two sent Brayton back to 20th, but he soldiered on to keep his streak going. Phillip Nicoletti filled in on the No. 38 Yamaha, finishing 20th in his first race for JGRMX. Andrew Short, No. 29 The BTO KTM team had a solid night with Andrew Short grabbing the main event holeshot. He settled into tenth on the No. 29 KTM SX-F Factory Edition while Matt Goerke was 15th on the No. 44 entry. He was 13th on the No. 9 KTM 350 SX-F. Mike Alessi was back in form at San Diego, finishing 14th on the No. 800 Moto Concepts Suzuki RM-Z450. The pilot of the No. 17 Rockstar Energy Racing KTM 250 SX-F is now in sole possession of the points lead, with a four-point cushion over Cole Seely. Anderson took over the second spot on lap seven and never let go, holding on for a much-needed podium finish. Jason Anderson, No. 17 Jake Canada earned his second consecutive top ten, taking ninth on the No. 66 51 Fifty Honda CRF250. Canada started the race at the back of the field, and he moved from 19th to 12th in only three laps before breaking into the top ten. Preston Mull was behind Tedder in 12th on the No. 565 Slayton Racing Yamaha YZ250F, notching his best finish of the season to date.
