Dear Friends of the Community Center,
The Easthampton Community Center would like to extend our
deepest sympathy to the family of Beverly Cotnoir on her recent
passing. Beverly has been on the Board of Directors at the Center for
the past seven years. Serving at the Board Vice Chairperson for the
last four years. It was a very distinct honor and pleasure serving
with Beverly. She was a great volunteer at events such as
the Easter Egg Hunt, and served faithfully in the Food
Pantry each week for many years. She will be greatly
missed on our Board.
Happy New Year!
Kids helping their Community
Hudson Melendy and Anna Sawyer had a birthday in December. They both
turned 9 years old. Instead of asking their friends to bring toys, they asked for
food. They collected over 200 pounds of food for the Food Pantry. Jordan
Dunham , her friends, and family, collected over
250 toys for the Toy Program at the Center. Judith
Breier’s classes at White Brook Middle School collected health and beauty aids for the Food Pantry.
Maple Street , Center and Pepin Schools collect
cans of food for the pantry throughout the year. The
Easthampton High School students sponsored two
families at Christmas, providing toys and gift cards
for the families chosen. Our Lady of the Valley Child Care collected pajamas.
Easthampton area Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops collected cans of food.
Young World classes collected cans of food. Williston Northampton students
collected food stuffs for our Food Pantry. The students at White Brook Middle
School, Williston Northampton School, and Calvary Baptist School come each
month and wait on tables at our Community Dinners. And all the wonderful
children that brought toys to our “Whobalation Celebration” that were distributed to children in need in their community. Kudos to the kids!. Hats off to our next generation of
community leaders and community service volunteers.
So Proud of you all!

THANKS FOR THE ALL STAR DONATIONS
To all of our friends at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and Our Lady of the Valley Parish for their continued
support for our Food Pantry. Trinity Lutheran Church, First Congregational Church of Southampton, Ferry St.
Package Store, Christ United Methodist Church, and the Westhampton Council on Aging, as always the foodstuffs you donate help so very much!
Thank you to Donald Payson; Dave and Melissa Fagnand; Karen Carr; Diane Geissler; Clem Couchon; Gene and
Anne DeFilippo; Doug and Judy Purcell; Nancy LaFleur, Donna Cushing, A-Z Storage (David, Melissa and
Thomas Boyle) and the Taralinkof family for your continued monthly support!
Thank You to Tandem Bagel for their donation of bagels to our Food Pantry and to Small Oven Bakery for their
wonderful donation of croissants and scones
Thank you to Mayor Karen Cadieux, Brittany Decker, and the Channel 40 Force team
for their wonderful Coat and Food Drive. We received hundreds of pounds of food and
many great gently used winter coats that were very welcome in our clothing closet.
Thank you to all of you that dropped off coats for our winter coat drive
during the month of November and December. Thank you to Easthampton Savings Bank, Florence
Savings Bank, Valley Medical Group, Cernak Buick , Big E’s Supermarket, Little Y at Big Y
Supermarket in Southampton, for having collection boxes set up and collecting coats for the Center. The hundreds of coats collected have been distributed to many area families.
All of the 370 children in our kids pantry program received a new, warm, snuggly pair
of pajamas for the holidays along with their toys. Thank you to the Our Lady Child Care Center for
collecting pajamas, and to Ferry Street Package Store for their donation of pajamas. The Kiwanis
Club and the Red Hat Society Ladies donations assured that we had enough pajamas for all!
The greater Easthampton area is very fortunate to have great associations such as The Kiwanis Club, Lions Club
and Rotary Club. All of these wonderful groups have made it possible through their donations, to purchase turkeys, chickens, and foodstuffs for our Food Pantry and have provided funding for pajamas and toy collections for
our Toy Program. The Lustenberger’s and the Southampton Lions Club collected over 250 toys for the Toy
Program! Thank you for your exemplary service to your communities!
The Easthampton Police Association donated 20 gift Certificates for families in need of a Christmas Dinner! A
turkey and all the fixings for a complete meal.
Many thanks to Lainey Wood and Fahn Miner for once again participating in the “Whobalation Celebration”. This year we were fortunate to have Roxanne Labato Bailey act as our song leader and thanks
to Tony from Legends Gaming for a great sound system. We collected 260 toys and $265 that went to
the Toy Fund Program. Thank you to Easthampton Savings Bank, Cernak Buick, and Heritage Home Design for sponsoring the event. Thank
you to Jeff and the volunteers from Silver Spoon for the yummy hot
chocolate!
Our thanks to the Easthampton Police Department and the Easthampton
CERT team for the great job they did helping with the traffic and crowd.
The Grinch did a wonderful job accepting all the great toys, and having
hundreds of pictures taken. He even posed for one with me, Thanks Mr.
Grinch! I’m sure all of our hearts grew three sizes more that night!
