mall. She filed a fraud report with
the bank, disputing three ATM withdrawals, saying she did not author-

about the theft June 1, stating suspects had overdrawn an account at
a Fairlawn bank and that checks and
bank cards from another bank were
inactive due to Hurricane Katrina.
Bank officials turned over to police
surveillance videotape that showed
the suspect present while two of the
ATM transactions were made.
On June 10, Wadsworth officers
arrested a man wanted in Fairlawn
on a warrant for misrepresenting his
identity and released him to police.
NORTON: Police investigated
a report filed by a Rosebay Boulevard woman who said she came
home June 8 to find the front windows of her home had been broken.
There was blood at the scene and

were unable to locate the injured

AnAkron resident reported June
9 that items were missing from her
storage unit at a Barber Road facility. She believes her former roommate might have taken them.
Police stopped a driver on Cleveland-Massillon Road June 10 when
they determined a license plate on
his vehicle was registered to another car. Officers learned the plate had
been reported stolen and arrested
him for felony receiving stolen
property.
A Cherrywood Street man filed
a fraud report June 10, stating he
called a taxi service to take him to
Cleveland and the driver charged
him $85 up front. When he reached
his destination, the driver made him
pay another $85.
The owner of a Barber Road
business reported June 10 that suspects smashed a window to gain
entry, ransacked several lockers and
stole $10 in change.
Officers in an unmarked vehicle
spotted a Weyrick Drive man who
was wanted on a parole violation
and several warrants walking near
his house June 10. Police told him

A Medina Line Road woman
reported May 28 that suspects
struck and damaged her car while
she shopped at a Broadview Road
grocery store.
Police assisted a man and three
children who were walking on the
Wheatley Road exit ramp from
Interstate 77 after their car became
disabled. Officers determined there
was a protection order prohibiting
the man from being with the children, but then verified the order had
been modified to allow visitation
and drove the four to their destination.
A Hawkins Road man reported
attempted mail fraud May 30, when
he received a letter stating he had
won nearly $5,000 in a lottery, that
he would receive a check in the mail
and he should have $2,700 deposited into the sender’s bank account.
The man investigated and determined many people have been
scammed in this manner when they
find out the original check they
received is not good after they have
wired the money. He reported the
matter to police, who are investigating the letter and alleged lottery
check.

A Kensington Drive woman
reported June 11 that suspects
punched holes in tires on a government vehicle and another vehicle
parked in her driveway.
RICHFIELD: Police tracked
down a man who purchased fuel at
a Brecksville Road gas station May
25 and promised to come back and
pay for it but reportedly failed to do
so. He called the station and provided a credit card number for payment.
On May 25, police investigated
a report filed by a Columbia Road
man who said he leased a trailer to
a Hartville man last July but cancelled the lease due to payment
problems. The suspect failed to
return the trailer and said it had been
stolen. Detectives determined the
trailer, which bore license plates that
were different from its original
plates, was reported stolen from
Sacramento, Calif.
Police traced a license number
of a tractor-trailer to contact the
driver who left a Brecksville Road
gas station without paying $489
for diesel fuel May 26. After officers left a phone message for the
Tennessee man, a clerk at the sta-
