Snowmobiling
A 1,200 mile network of snowmobile
trails radiate in every direction from
Brainerd, making the Brainerd Lakes
Area one of the upper Midwest’s
premier snowmobiling destinations.
Ride the 100 mile Paul Bunyan Trail to
Bemidji, or venture off one of the other
groomed trails. The famous Gull Lake
Lighted Trail will guide you on your
night excursions.
Cross Country Skiing
The Brainerd Lakes Area offers a
scenic 240 miles of groomed and
non-groomed cross-country ski trails.
Thousands of skiers enjoy these trails
every winter. There are even lighted
trails for night skiing, which means you
won’t need to quit just when your skis
get warmed up
Paul Bunyan Trail
This 50-mile paved trail winds past 21
lakes, four rivers and many streams
on its journey north from Brainerd
to Bemidji. Enjoy hiking, biking,
in-line skating, and in the winter,
snowmobiling.

Brainerd Jaycee’s Ice fishing’s largest

LAKES AREA EVENTS
November 20th - 1st Annual Apple Pie Festival
Local restaurants and bars competing for ‘’Best Apple Pie’’ and ‘’Largest Apple Pie’’. Prizes will be a Prime Rib Dinner
for six. There will also be a apple pie eating contest, pie throwing contest, huge bonfire, and for the kids there will be face
painting, pin the tail on the donkey, wheelbarrow races, sack races, piñatas, and a balloon pop with prizes in every balloon.
This event is sponsored by Kinship Partners and Ernies on Gull. Event will be held at Ernies on Gull from 1pm - 5pm.
November 26th - Nisswa’s 23rd Annual CITY OF LIGHTS Welcome the holiday season with holiday carolers and an
explosion of color and lights. Horse drawn hay wagon rides, storytelling, bonfire, hot food, Downtown Nisswa.
December 11th - Parade of Lights and Christmas program will be offered in Pine River. Featured will be a beautiful
holiday parade, a kids Christmas program at the Warehouse, caroling, horse-drawn sleigh rides (weather permitting), a bonfire, chamber Open House with hot chocolate, cider and cookies, and fireworks! All activities are free.
January 7th - Annual Ice Fest Event at Breezy Point with sleigh rides, bonfires, ice dance, entertainment, snowmobile
radar runs and Power Ice Auger world championship. Kids events and fireworks.
January 8th - Radar Runs Breezy Point Resort 11th Annual Radar Run. Registration starts at 8:00 AM Racing starts at
10:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
January 9th - 3rd Annual Power Ice Auger World Championships - On Pelican in front of Breezy Point Resort - As
part of Breezy Points Ice Fest. Join in and test your skills with an ice auger. Try to be the one to beat. They will have augers
available to use or you can bring your own. It will be $5.00 for the old fashioned hand operated; $10.00 for stock or you can
modify your auger for the most power for $15.00. Registration begins at 8:00 AM. Racing at 10:00 Am until 4:00.
January 14th - Antique Snowmobile Rendezvous - Snowmobiles built in 1966 and before ‘race’ at speeds up to 18 mph.
Competitions include drag, oval, reverse oval and obstacle rallies. Other activities include a vintage snowmobile show, trail
rides, a parade and a style show.
January 22nd - $150,000 Ice Fishing Extravaganza
Ice Fishing’s largest prize package will be up for grabs as thousands of anglers take to the ice for a day of fun with family and
friends. With $150,000 in cash and prizes, this event is a can’t miss affair! All proceeds are donated to Confidence Learning
Center and other local charities. Starts at 12:00pm and Ends at 3:00pm on Hole in the Day Bay, Gull Lake. All old and new
sleds on Paul Bunyan trail. Drag, Oval, Reverse Oval, Obstacle Rallies & Vintage Snowmobile
February 5th - Bar Harbor Annual Snow Golf Tournament Part 1 - Bar Harbor
February 11th - Vikings Arctic Blast Please join us at North America’s largest participant snowmobile rally. It’s the Super Bowl of Snowmobiling as coined by
Minnesota Snowmobiling. Ride the well-groomed trails with several current and former Viking players, Viking coaches
and cheerleaders. With thousands of other snowmobile enthusiasts, we’ll be riding Arctic Cat sleds to BLAST POINTS in
Garrison, Isle, Onamia, and Malmo. This event raises substantial dollars (last year’s event raised over $40,000 with limited
snow) for Upper Midwest children through the Viking Children’s Fund.

February 11, 12, & 13th - Held in the Walker Leech Lake area, the International Eelpout. Festival has been tempting
legions of pouters and tournament patriots to Leech Lake for 25 years. Heralded as MN’s finest display of sportsmanship
and ice antics. The Eelpout Festival is an experience not to be missed.
