God’s Word
There are those who want to
redefine the Biblical concept of
marriage, but God’s original
plan for this sacred union is
clear. The book of Genesis
reveals that God intends
marriage to be one man and
one woman committed to one
another in every way. Jesus also
says in Matthew 7,
“everyone who hears
these words of Mine
and puts them into
practice is like a
wise man
who built his house on
the rock.”
If we want our families to be
strong and able to withstand the
storms of life, we have to construct them on the foundation of
God’s Word. That’s why Faith
Radio supports the Biblical
design of marriage and airs
programs that convey this truth.

"Faith Radio is my daily discipleship which helps me keep my
mind on the Lord and encourages me along the way. The
day I picked up my cross from Faith Radio, God's Holy Spirit
instilled in my spirit a greater awareness of Him. I have
consciously stopped worrying and started trusting God
completely. I feel like I have moved from the valley to the
mountain top. Faith Radio is helping me grow closer to God."

"I started listening to Faith Radio about 30 years ago.
Without a doubt, it has made the biggest contributions to my
spiritual growth. We go to church maybe 3 or 4 hours a
week, but we can listen to Faith Radio 24 hours a day 7
days a week. What a Wonderful Blessing! Thank you for
being there for us all through the good times and bad in the
middle of the night, in early morning hours, all day every day."

influence on your walk with the Lord? I'm sure they were
looking for a person's name but I wrote Faith Radio. Thank
you for always being there for me 24/7!" - Luverne, AL

“We live in a time when we actually have intruder drills at middle
school. And you think that kids would be worried about school
shootings. But to them, that's kind of remote. They're much
more worried about looking stupid, feeling rejected. I think most
of us can remember the pain of going into the lunch room when
your friend is absent from school and wondering, who can I sit
by? Where am I going to sit? If I sit with these people, am I going
to be rejected? Am I going to say something about a television
show that I like and have everybody laugh and say, "Wow, I
can't believe you still like that." That pain is very real and it's
something they face every day.” - Navigating the Middle

Our Statement on MARRIAGE
by Mark Williams, President, Faith Radio Board of Directors
his summer, the U.S.
Supreme Court is expected to decide whether
homosexual marriage is a right that
is to be protected under the U.S.
Constitution. For almost 250 years,
the United States has recognized
marriage as a legal union exclusively
between a man and a woman.
Many legal experts believe the
Supreme Court will force this
radical shift upon the country and
that all 50 states will have to allow
same sex couples to wed.
For Christians, this decision
may be the most important
decision the high court has
rendered since it was brought into
being in September of 1789. The
institution of marriage is viewed
as the first institution established
by God at the conclusion of
creation. It was and always has
been the only model God has
accepted for marriage... one man
and one woman.
Since the beginning of recorded
history, man has rebelled against
God and his definition of marriage.
No story in the Bible quite
epitomizes this rebellion like what
happened at the desert city of
4
“...a man shall be joined to his wife...” - Genesis 2:24

Faith Radio’s Ministry Magazine - April-July 2015
Sodom. At Sodom, almost the
entire city had chosen to live a
homosexual lifestyle. As a direct
result of this, God destroyed
the people and the city. There was
never a more definite biblical
statement about God’s feelings
about the practice of homosexuality.
Christians accept the Bible to
be without error and consider the
Bible to be God’s manual for living.
So it is logical that Christians
oppose homosexual marriage
based upon the story of Sodom
alone. God’s opposition to this
lifestyle is so pronounced and so
unequivocal that, for Christians,
the issue is a settled matter where
there is no middle ground.
As we wait for the Supreme
Court to rule this summer, there is
no need to fret or cower from what
we know is truth. We should make
our voices heard and pray knowing
that none of this catches God by
surprise. At Faith Radio, we will
persist in presenting the biblical
arguments in favor of marriage that
is exclusively heterosexual. We will
also pray and trust God with the
results. He knows the results and
we can trust Him with them.

Faith Radio is Devoted to Strengthening the Family
A
fe
s we examine the landscape of the American family, we find a degradation
taking place. An alarming number of couples marry and then divorce.
Unmarried men and women live together and some have children. Then
there are those who want to redefine marriage in a profoundly different way.
If you are searching for clarity in the midst of confusion, start with God’s Word.
In Genesis chapter 2, the institution of marriage is clearly defined in verse 24 which
says, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall
become one flesh.” (NKJV)
This view of marriage was supported by Jesus according to Matthew chapter 19.
The apostle Paul also wrote that marriage is between a husband and a wife and
representative of the relationship between Christ and the church.
There are certain principles that are important to remember as we
consider the definition of marriage and family. For one thing,
God’s definition of marriage is unchanged. The definition of
marriage from a Christian worldview perspective is
considered to be one man and one woman.
On its website, Focus on the Family published a series
called, Marriage: God’s Idea, in which writer Carol
Hefferman quoted Gary Thomas, author of the
book, Sacred Marriage. He is quoted as saying:
• God created marriage as a loyal partnership
between one man and one woman.
• Marriage is the firmest foundation for
building a family.
• God designed sexual expression to help
married couples build intimacy.
• Marriage mirrors God's covenant relationship
with His people.
Thomas also says, "God did not create
marriage just to give us a pleasant means of
repopulating the world and providing a
steady societal institution to raise
children. He planted marriage among humans
as yet another signpost pointing to His own
eternal spiritual existence."
Traditional Biblical marriage is an
expression of the plan of God. Gay marriage is a severe misapplication of God’s
truth. We stand against gay marriage
because it is contrary to God’s plan. Gay
marriage is an extension of homosexual
behavior, which is characterized as sinful
throughout the Scriptures. We must also
remember to approach those who are a part
of the gay lifestyle with the compassion of
Christ, perhaps seeking to develop a channel
through which we can speak truth always
coated with the love of Jesus.
Even though there is a greater acceptance of gay marriage, the spread of this
counterfeit marriage can propel Christians
to be more committed in our homes and
reflect the glory of God. Certainly, in our
culture, families look differently, but
help for our homes is rooted in God’s
Word. His truth teaches us how we are to
relate to one another. But, we cannot expect
His blessing if we are violating His
principles. We need to recognize that God’s
way is best, and we are called to align our
lives with His truth. In an age where families
are fractured and face unusual challenges,
we can rely on God to provide the stability
we need.
Faith Radio offers insight and truth
for families with Christ-centered programs
such as Focus on the Family (weekdays at
8:30am), FamilyLife Today (weekdays at noon),
and Intentional Living (weekdays at 3pm). We
encourage you to tune in as you make God’s
Word the authority for your home.

“Listening Made
a World of Difference”
Robin Wise can’t think of
one single programmer she likes
best on Faith Radio. That’s
because she loves them all.
“You might think 90.3 is just
a radio station, but it’s a whole
lot more to me,” Wise said.
This Samson resident has
been listening to Faith Radio for
more than 10 years. She tells
everyone she knows about it,
including her adult children, who
have also become listeners.
“I stumbled across it (Faith
Radio) years ago when I would
wake up early and drive to a job
in Dothan,” Wise said. “Listening
made a world of difference in my
life. It helped me grow in my
knowledge of the Bible.”
The first programmer she
heard was David Jeremiah.
“Once I started listening to
Faith Radio, it was hard to go
back to any other station, “she
said. “When you stay away from
the worldly music for a while, you
realize how worldly it actually is.”
She now enjoys the Christcentered music on Faith Radio
and listens to several different
programmers
like
Charles
Stanley and Tony Evans. Wise
said she believes Faith Radio
keeps her on track spiritually.
“I tell people all the time that
God is working and speaking
through Faith Radio,” she said,
“but if you think God speaks
through the radio, the devil
does too.”
Because Faith Radio has
added so much to her life, Wise
decided to give back financially
to the ministry.
“I get all this wonderful
teaching and music for free and
that is God blessing me, “she
said. “I don’t have a lot but God
has given me enough so I wanted to give back through Faith
Radio. I know Faith Radio can
reach so many more people than
I can.”
Robin Wise (second from the
left) stands between her mom
and dad with her son and
daughter, their spouses and
her grandchildren. This
Samson, Alabama resident
has been listening to Faith
Radio for more than 10
years. She shares Faith
Radio with others including
her adult children.

Family
Relationships:
A Priority on The Meeting House
his edition of the Faith Radio
Ministry Magazine is devoted to
providing a Biblical perspective
on the family. Information, rooted in
the Scriptures, to help strengthen our
families is an essential component of
the The Meeting House program.
During the period of time following
a federal judge’s ruling overturning
Alabama’s marriage amendment and the
issuing of marriage licenses to same-sex
couples, The Meeting House brought you
insight and commentary on the implications of those events. And, as the issue
of so-called “gay marriage” is considered by the U.S. Supreme Court, I will
continue to bring you relevant coverage
of the developments.
As believers in Christ, it’s important
that we are encouraged in our marriages
and recognize these relationships as
covenants made before God. Marriages
are facing a host of challenges today,
and God’s Word and His Spirit provide
the necessary direction and strength in
order to live in our homes in a manner
pleasing to Him.
A number of guests on the program
in 2015 have helped us do that. Speakers
from various marriage conferences were
on the program, including Jerry and
Lynn Jones, Lou Priolo, and Doug
Weiss. I was pleased to stand with these
events and allow these quality speakers
to share their perspective. Other guests
such as authors Juana Mikels (Choosing
Him All Over Again), Ruth Soukup

The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:31, “...whatever
you do, do it all for the glory of God.” The ministry
of Faith Radio strives to help build up Godly families
built on Biblical principles that bring glory to God. We
often hear from listeners that tell us how this ministry
has helped them become a better parent or a better
spouse. One listener recently said, “Every morning I listen to your family programs, and they have become such a source
of strength in my life. My family is my best gift and biggest priority, and this ministry has helped build a solid foundation of
faith in my home.”
When you support Faith Radio, you are supporting families throughout your community and helping
them to grow in Christ. The Lord has given us a
Kingdom responsibility to protect and build up the
family unit with Biblical principles. Will you join us in
this Kingdom task? Your gifts to Faith Radio will
make a massive earthly and eternal impact, and your
support will bring glory to God.
