Cyberknife® Robotic Radiosurgery
Despite the name, this leading-edge procedure involves no cutting. It’s an alternative

areas with high-dose beams of radiation. USMD Arlington radiation oncologists and
surgical specialists have partnered to make ours the fourth most active CyberKnife
stereotactic body radiosurgery program in the world.

The ear-nose-throat surgeons at USMD Fort Worth were the first in North Texas to offer
Balloon Sinuplasty™, an incision-free technique for opening blocked sinuses. In fact,

and pediatric sinus surgery.
Minimally Invasive Spine Procedures
The specialists at USMD Arlington and USMD Fort Worth explore all possible options
before considering surgery for conditions such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis,
spinal cord compression or spinal-related chronic pain. When surgery is required,

Breast Cancer Surgery and Reconstruction
When breast cancer is detected, sentinel lymph node biopsy is used to assess the extent
or stage of the cancer. Depending on various factors, lumpectomy (removal of the tumor
and surrounding tissue) or mastectomy (removal of one or both breasts) may be required.
USMD breast surgeons and plastic surgeons work closely together to assure a smooth
transition from mastectomy to full reconstruction.
USMD Arlington specializes in two minimally invasive weight-loss procedures: laparoscopic
adjustable gastric banding and the gastric sleeve, a procedure that reduces stomach size
by as much as 85 percent. Both procedures are offered in the context of a comprehensive

Arthroscopy and Joint Replacement
Painful, swollen joints can often be examined and treated at the same time using
arthroscopy, a minimally invasive technique that employs tiny instruments and a video
camera to explore and even repair damaged joint tissue. USMD orthopedic surgeons
also use minimally invasive procedures when appropriate for knee, hip, shoulder,
elbow, wrist and hand joint replacement.
