Engage with English is a two-level English course for
Grades 11 and 12. The course recycles and extends
language structures, functions and vocabulary
introduced in previous English for Me courses.
Stimulating, international, up-to-date themes have
been chosen to engage and encourage discussion
through comparison with life in Oman and look forward
to life after school.
Each theme contains five units covering a wide range
of topic areas and focussing on a specific language
area. This wide-ranging thematic approach provides
the background for integrated language skills practice,
as well as systematic vocabulary development.
An Across Cultures section at the end of each theme
introduces students to aspects of life in the Englishspeaking world, while a Reading for Pleasure section
invites students to engage with more extended texts
and different text types.
The choice and variety of themes will help each and
every student find many things to interest and excite
them.
