Just see our Membership Director. —Employee Pricing when purchasing vehicles— —Cost +10% when buying parts— Wow, what a month. Feels just like yesterday I was sitting here writing to you about everything and here I am again. So what has been going on? Anything and everything. Just as Fall brings a lot of activity for the club it seems Winter is very active planning for this Spring’s events. Ron has been busy getting ready for our folks who are showing in the AutoRama, Mark and Bill have been busy coordinating and planning this years Mopars at the Motorplex, Joanne has been busy doing everything needed to update our roster and processing our membership renewals, and I have been busy trying to help where I can. Work has kept me super busy, I’m in the middle of buying a house, and as always working on Sarah’s car. The good news is I think we are going to have a great year. As for life around the house it’s been a busy month. We finally found a house that meets most of our wants and needs so now it’s just a matter of ironing out the details. If all goes well we will close at the end of February and move the 1st weekend in March although I may have to take a day to go racing for the 1st TMCCC race. As for Sarah’s Dart we’ve got a lot done this past month. The heater box is completely refreshed with new heater core, seal, foam and a good cleaning. I have the headlight conversion done and today we got the heater box installed along with the fresh air vent on the driver’s side replaced. Only some little things on the list and that project will be all wrapped up just in time for the move with a little luck. As for announcements and reminders please keep in mind elections are coming up and anyone interested in running for a board position is welcome. I will be running for President again if you would like to have me as I find it very rewarding to help out with such a great club. Well I’m off for now. Hope you all have a wonderful month and I look forward to seeing you at the AutoRama and the club meeting. Off The Wing by Barry Hansen Mopar spotting...in case 707 hp is not enough for you March issue of Hot Rod has an article to raise Hellcats to 900 hp...Also in Hot Rod, a 1968 Dodge Omni GLH, 2300 pound, 500 hp, 4 cyl and a 1987 Shelby Daytona, 4 cyl, no hp advertised, that both do the quarter mile in under 10.00 flat at over 140 mph. Understand both are front wheel drive, 4 cyl and street legal...Dodge Ram is number 6 on the list of “Top 10 vehicles Most Loved by Repeat Buyers”...Jan 22 Mecum Auto Actions sold a 1970 Plymouth HEMI Cuda convertible (one of 5 built that year), 4-speed, Lemon Twist Yellow, for $2,675,000. For that price you only get an AM radio but low mileage, 27,500 original miles. Bought new in 1970 by a man in British Columbia as a graduation present for his daughter. NHRA realizing that Pro Stock, like Funny Car, has evolved (can I say that in Texas?) so far away from its roots that it in no way resembles the original class debuts two new classes for 2016. FS/X (factory stock, normally aspirated) and FS/XX (factory stock with superchargers) specifically for Drag Pak Challengers, CobraJet Mustangs and COPO Camaros. The two Drag Pak cars offered are the Gen III 426 Hemi and the Viper V10, although you have to carry 75 more pounds with the V10. I think they will be great classes to watch and if not careful will overshadow Pro Stock. By the way new rules in Pro Stock mandate same spec Holley fuel injection on all cars, 10,500 rev limiters, no hood scoops. Finally, NHRA Winternationals Feb 14, Pomona, CA. And, oh yea, some roundy round race Feb 21 in Daytona Beach, FL. Sad, very sad dept...Mopars at the Strip in Las Vegas will be open to Fords and GMs this year and called Muscle Cars at the Strip (due to popular demand, yea, right!). A dollar to a donut the Fun Ford Weekend and Super Chevy Sunday will not be open to Mopars. Ad in local paper the other day, brand new 2016 Challenger SXT for $19,999. Comes stock with the hot little V6, 8 speed Torqueflite, 4 wheel disc brakes, 4 wheel independent suspension. That's only about 3 grand more than a lot of econo-box foreign cars. Amazing. Hot Rod Power Tour this year could almost be called the Texas Power Tour. All city stops are within 10 hours driving of home. Several within 4 hours. Starts June 11 in Baton Rouge, LA, Baytown, TX, Austin, TX, Grand Prairie, TX, OKC, OK, Wichita, KS and ends June 17 in Kansas City, MO. Please consider driving part if not all of the tour, you will have a blast. One of our show team reps, Ron Carroll, has already told me that I will be going. How about a Hellcat option for the Police Depts? Hellcat officer on the radio, “located suspect's car, officer in pursuit, chopper stand down, I think I got this one.” Peace, Love, Mopars We love our sponsors... ...you will too ITEMS FOR SALE / ITEMS WANTED FOR SALE: 1964 Dodge 440, 2 door hardtop, Candymatic clone NSS race car.
