Dennis was a fly fishing guide and instructor,
and his stream knowledge elevated him as an
Umpqua Feather Merchants contract fly designer.
He created the Bread N’ Butter Bugger, Crippled
Callibaetis and Crippled Green Drake. He
contributes to various magazines including
Southwest Fly Fishing magazine.
* Steve Parrott Catch Steve at Authors Corner
autographing his new DVDs. Steve’s fly patterns
include the Black Fly Larva and the New 2012
Chironoflash Midge Pupa
1pm–4pm Jay Zimmerman
Jay is a contract tier for Umpqua Feather
Merchants and created the Backstabber, Banksia
Bug, Clown Shoe Caddis, Clown Shoe Sally, the
Geezus Lizard and Texas Ringworm, which was
awarded “Best in Show” at the International Fly
Tackle Dealer show in 2011. Jay has written two
books. In Neck Deep: Stories from a Fisherman
and the upcoming The Top Ten Guide to Fly
Fishing due out in October, 2012.
February 26
10am–1:30pm Rick Takahashi &
Herman de Gala with Jerry Hubka
Rick is with Umpqua Feather Merchants and his
designs include: Drowned Hopper, Tak’s Crystal
Chironomid, Tak’s Emerger, Tak’s Go2Nymphs
and more. Joining Rick today is Jerry Hubka, they
will be autographing their book, Modern Midges,
Tying and Fishing The World’s Most Effective
Patterns.
* Herman de Gala is an avid fly tyer, and
he developed the highly successful website
flytyingclips.com. Herman is part of the
Umpqua Feather Merchants Team with his CDC
Callibaetis Nymph and Hula Damsel.
1:30pm-4:30pm Chris Schrantz
Chris is on pro staff for R.L. Winston Rod Co. and
he is an Umpqua Feather Merchants royalty tier,
creating the Callibaetis Nymph, the Platte River
Spider and Quill Body Sally.
* Al Noraker 2:30 pm at the Fishing Theatre
Stage. Al is a 2-time World Record holder for
lake trout. He is also on the Umpqua Feather
Merchants team with his
creation, The Thing A Ma Jig!
March 3
10am–1pm Dave Student
Dave’s fly tying roots are in trout flies that began
well over 40 years ago. His true passion has
turned to saltwater. Dave is a contract Umpqua
Feather Merchants Fly tier having created the
Megalopsicle, and Tarpon Tapas, with more on
the way.
1pm–4pm Eric Pettine
Eric has been fly fishing, guiding and fly tying for
over 50 years. He has two books, River Wrecks
and the North Platte River Journal. He is on pro
staff for Scientific Angler. Check out Eric’s Midge
(Hi-vis), Pyrite Caddis Larva Tungsten, Tungsten &
Orange Soft Hackle.
* Charlie Craven Catch Charlie at Authors
Corner. Charlie also created the Baby Boy
Hopper, Charlie’s Mysis, Double Gonga, Juju
Baetis, Juju PMD, Jujubee Midge, Poison Tung,
Soft Hackle Emerger, Two Bit Hooker and many
more.
March 4

Dennis is a Colorado native and has been fly
fishing for the past 30 years and started tying in
the 80’s. He is an Umpqua Feather Merchants Pro
tier with the fly called the D-Midge.
* Pat Dorsey will be across at Authors Corner.
He is an author and is a fly designer for Umpqua
Feather Merchants. Pat’s creations include the
Black Beauty, Mercury Blood Midge, Mercury
series, Medallion Midge Pupa, Tungsten Mercury
Caddis and so many many more.
1:00pm-4:00pm Greg Garcia
Greg is a contract fly tyer for Umpqua Feather
Merchants, and is best known for the Rojo
Midge Emerger. Greg also produced the Mothers
Day Caddis, Mini Hots, and the Grande Rojo
Chironomid. He is on pro staff for R.L. Winston
Rod Co.
* John Barr Meet the creator of The Copper
John. John is an author and is a fly designer
for Umpqua Feather Merchants which include:
Graphic Caddis, Cranefly Larva, Bouface GB,
Slump Buster and many more.
