Employee's of Amey's Taxi Please accept my personal thank you for your help in making our Clothes for Kids 201312014 another success. This was the twenty-Fifth year that we at Corus Kingston have been facilitating this wonderful charity, and once again, thanks to your help, we exceeded our goals. Over three thousand children received brand new snowsuits in early December through the generosity of yourself and many others in our community. It is important to mention that 100% of the snowsuit and cash donations go directly to those in need, as all administrative costs are borne by Corus Kingston. Thank you again for your support, and I wish you all the best in 2014. To date, more than S1.3 mittion has been granted to over 500 projects in schools and education centres throughout the Limestone District. Limestone Leorning Foundotion {l '"\--\ \) I' \\n € \\1' Helping others This type of story happens, and is reporled infrequently. This happened right here in Kingston, last Saturday. The snow was falling, as were a few pedestrians. Vehicles were slipping and sliding, too. ln a busy restaurant on Princess Street West that is new to Kingston and serves only breakfast and lunch, seven days a week, a patron took very ill. With a restaurant full of dining cusiomers, manager Nick and hostess Jenny "closed" the ladies washroom and saw to the needs and comfort of the suddenly ill patron. While what they did, over the period of 30-plus minutes, exceeded all reasonable expectations, other customers in the restaurant couldn't have been more kind or genuinely helpful. The final Good Samaritan was the driver of Amey's Taxi car number 66 who drove the lady to her apartment and accompanied her right up to her door on the third floor. There are good people in Kingston, in spite of the recurring stories on the front page of the Whig-Standard that would cause you to think otherwise. H. My driver's name was Bonni, he picked me up from St. Lawrence College around 6:30pm. The drive was so nice. After a bad day, I was happy to encounter such a genuinely sweet man. I wanted to contact you because I feel that kindness, especially in a customer service job, should be acknowledged and encouraged; it is so rare. Thank you, Lily
