A Letter to our Members

Wow, 2009 - what a year. We will remember 2009 as the year of the “bail-outs” and
“stimulus packages”. America has a challenging economic road to travel, but we shall remain
confident that America will prevail and she will again stand economically tall.
Like many financial institutions, St. Tammany Federal Credit Union has traveled quite a
challenging road. However, as other financial institutions were “bailed-out”, not one single
natural person credit union accepted one penny of government assistance - this makes me
proud to be part of the Credit Union Movement. Yes, St. Tammany Federal Credit Union
has suffered loan losses and had to increase our share insurance fund but we remain a viable
credit union.
We recognize that families in our credit union may have been impacted by financial incidents
they did not see coming. For that reason, St. Tammany Federal Credit Union would like to
discuss options that may assist with these financial shortfalls. We are not offering a
hand-out, but a hand-up, so our members can achieve financial well-being. Please contact
us to discuss options that are available.
