By this time most have probably placed their LBC’s in hibernation mode.
My self... I’m still enjoying driving my Big Healey very much! As long as the snow stays away the Healey will put on
more miles before hibernation mode takes place.
The Austin Healey Club of Manitoba would like to thank Alan Heartfield for all of his hard work on setting up the
website and for being the webmaster for many years, your time and effort was greatly appreciated by many.
We wish you all the best in your new found home ( the Wet Coast ), Now you can at least drive your LBC all year
round .
Thank you Glen & Wendy Lucas for stepping up to the plate as the new Webmaster for the Austin Healey Club of
Manitoba,
Elaine Davidson (Prez)
Bill and Fern hosted the November club meeting and it was packed! Many thanks for your gracious hospitality. It
was so good to see everyone again. I don’t know how many “LBCs” were present but we had the “Bugeye” out.
It was a beautiful evening for a drive. Sure would be wonderful if this weather holds out for awhile.
As I was not here for October, I don’t know how many Fall Suppers and Thanksgiving dinners everyone partook.
But judging from all the contented smiles, there must have been a few. The Perogie Supper at Lockport Community Church on November 7th was superb as usual and many car enthusiasts attended.
The semi-annual AHCA Delegates meeting is scheduled for the weekend of November 12 Atlanta. It sounds like
it will be a good event and I look forward to hearing about it. While completing and submitting annual reports to
the AHCA secretary for this meeting, I had an opportunity to reflect on the numerous and varied events our club
has participated in this past year and how fortunate we are. Keep up the good work everyone!
If you are planning to go to the Christmas Dinner at Rembrandt’s Bistro, please let Graeme know what your
choice of dinner menu will be. It is scheduled for Friday, December 3rd with cocktails starting at 6 and Dinner at
7 PM. The details are in the October Newsletter. A small gift exchange will take place.
Please note that the date for the January meeting will be the 10th. Jodi and Dyrk will host this event at 10 Parrish
Bay in St Andrews.
Your driving tip for this month is to make every effort to change your oil before you put your LBC to bed for
the winter. This will ensure that the oil is free of acids and other contaminants that will continue to slowly eat
away at your delicate crankshaft and connecting rod bearings while your LBC is sleeping peacefully.
