WORSHIP SERVICE ~ MARCH 8, 2015
~ THIRDSUNDAY IN LENT ~
NURSERY CARE Babies and children of all ages are invited, welcomed and encouraged in
our worship services. We have a nursery available for infants through four years of age for
your convenience. The nursery room is staffed with two volunteers who would be happy to
care for your child while you attend worship. You may drop your children off in the nursery
room at 9:45 a.m. and pick them up immediately following worship.
SILENT MEDITATION
It may be that when we no longer know what to do,
We have come to our most important work.
When we no longer know which way to go,
We have come to our real journey.
When all our wisdom leads us no where,
That is time to heed the improbable and unlikely.

CALL TO WORSHIP
L:
In the bible, God is portrayed as The Sculptor of Life.
P : Out of the moist primeval clay God created Human.
L:
So proud was our Creator, that God made Human in God's own image.
P:
Male and Female, God created them.
L:
But the sculpting wasn't complete at the beginning,
P:
All of life is meant as molding, all our challenges are meant to smooth the sharp
edges, all our joys are meant to solidify God's handiwork.
L:
So let the holy sculpting continue. Let us worship God.
*HYMN (CH) # 23 vs. 1, 2, 5 Praise My Soul, the God of Heaven
*UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION
L: The Lord be with you. P: And also with you. L: Let us pray.
ALL: Forgive us when we think ourselves complete and finished before You, 0 God are
done making us Your Masterpiece. When we think we need not learn new things. When we
need not continue changing. When we are so thoroughly settled in who we are and what life
is about that Your sacred creating no longer works on us and we become dry and brittle
souls. In other words, forgive us Lord, when we put a period, but God has placed a comma.
MOMENT OF SILENT CONFESSION
*UNISON ASSURANCE OF PARDON 0 God, who out of nothing brought everything, let
me know that l am Your something, Your someone, Your beloved child. You have plans for
me I never dreamed of. And because You created me, I AM GOOD!

One Great Hour of Sharing: Giving Help, Hope and Life
I do not mean that there should be relief for others and pressure on you,
but it is a question of a fair balance between your present abundance and
their need, so that their abundance may be for your need, in order that
there may be a fair balance. As it is written,
‘The one who had much did not have too much, and the one who had little
did not have too little.’ 2 Corinthians 8:13-15
Our special collection will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2015
Through One Great Hour of Sharing, lives are literally changed daily. Your support provides
clean water, food, medicines, shelter, healthcare, education and so much more.
One Great Hour of Sharing supports partners in more than 70 countries with ministries that
fund development projects, feed the victims of famine, provide services for displaced people, and respond to natural disasters. These ministries are the responsibility of Wider
Church Ministries, Global Sharing of Resources
What percentage of OGHS donations are used directly for mission?
On average, of every dollar given to One Great Hour of Sharing, 91 cents is used directly
for mission programming; 5 cents for interpretation materials and 4 cents for administrative
costs which include program monitoring and evaluation (for accountability). Most administrative costs are paid by gifts to Our Church's Wider Mission National Basic Support and endowment funds.
