The core of the human is the soul. Our
values are “Soul in Action,” the spokesperson for the soul. Ideally, our values
are aligned with soul and guide our
interests which lead to strengths and
affect our behaviours. As we continue
to expand to the outermost self, we
manifest our personality consisting of
our unique preferences. The ideal situation is to have all layers aligned with
soul. Our core values then become a
directing force which lead us to careers
and relationships that are in alignment
with who we are. These careers and
relationships will also be aligned with
our interests, abilities, strengths, weaknesses, talents, gifts, and ideal environments and we will be able to reach our
maximum potential both personally and
professionally. Come join us for an interactive workshop exploring your core

20 Writing Your Memoir
or Family History
Writing a memoir involves going on
a journey of discovery and stitching
together the scraps and pieces of the
past to tell a story. How does one begin?
Where to look? What is the best way
to tell the story? Learn the answers to
these questions and develop writing
skills and tools by looking at different
models of memoir to help you create
your own. Carmelo’s memoir “The
Fate of Olives” was short-listed for the
Manitoba First Book Prize and the F.G.
Bressani award.

Creative Writing – From What to
Who, Where, When and Why
Writers typically start with an idea of
what is going to happen. We will focus
on character, setting and motivation
(who, where, when, why). Writing exercises will help you flesh out your original
idea and focus on technical questions
regarding perspective, voice and word
choice in your writing. Bob’s new novel,
“Dadolescence” has been published by
