Check us out on the web! www.farmersunionhorsecompany.org Farmers’ Union Horse Company P.O. Box 162 Fairview Village, Pennsylvania 19409 March 2011 Farmers’ Union Horse Company Fairview Village, Pennsylvania Est. 1834 Though the year has just begun, 2011 is already off to a great start! June 4, 2011 will mark the 71st Annual Horse Farmers’ Union Horse Company Horse Show at Heyser Field in Fairview Village. This event is the highlight of the year and has become a tradition for riders both young and old. Experience the tradition and relive the Company’s 177 years of history through a historical exhibit presented by historian Ernie Hammond! “There is no secret so close as that between a rider and his horse” -R.S. Surtees This year’s show will debut our new online entry form and prize list with fun and exciting classes such as Jack Benny, Non-Jumping Hunter, Pairs and Hunt Teams. We will continue our well known traditions of silver perpetual and challenge trophies, a performance by the Montgomery County 4-H Mounted Drill Team, and our exciting raffle table with over thirty different items! Last year’s events helped us raise money to support various charities such as the Perkiomenville SPCA, Return to Freedom Ranch and Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines. This year we have set an even higher goal to raise more money, support more charitable organizations and involve the community in service related activities. On April 2nd we will be volunteering at Ryerss Farm for Aged s Equines, assisting in the grooming and shedding of their retired equines. This r e n in am W e event will also kick off our year long supply drive to help benefit additional T t un H 0 1 organizations including Last Chance Ranch, Omega Horse Rescue and Work to 20 Ride. Please visit our new and improved website at www.farmersunionhorsecompany.org for a list of supplies we are looking to collect and donate as well as pick and drop off information. FUHC members will be at the Bit of Heaven Tack Shop sale event on April 9th to collect your new or lightly used items as well as to inform you of many of the great events going on this year! We are always looking to expand our organization and thrive with an eclectic group of horse loving individuals. If you are interested in becoming a member or renewing your membership, please complete the included membership form on page three and join us at our next meeting on April 6th. Hope to see everyone on June 4th! Lauren M.
