Day Pass $10.00 Individual (includes squash) $90.00 for 10 Individual Day Passes $8.00 Student (valid school ID) $5.50 Senior $45.00 for 10 Senior Day Passes $15.00 Family (5 family members maximum) The CHP Day Pass permits you the privileges of a subscriber for the day! That would include all our fitness classes, use of our beautiful weight room, and access to swims and skates. Babysitting Service We offer babysitting services by reservation only, with at least 24 hours notice, only to users of the complex at the following rates: Subscribers $1.25 - 30 min. $0.75 - 30 min (each additional child) General Public $1.50 - 30 min. $1.00 - 30 min. (each additional child) Discount Prices $22.50 - 1 child, 22 stamps Please note: one stamp will be used on your card for every 1/2 hour. Mon.-Fri Mon-Thurs. Saturday 8:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 5:45 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. 8:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Reservations for the babysitting service must be made at our Control Desk or during babysitting hours in the babysitting room. Reservations can be made up to four weeks in advance. If you are unable to keep your reservation, you must notify our Control Desk, at 464-5100 or you will be required to pay for your reserved time. We ask that if you have a child who is not walking that you limit your stay at the babysitting service to 90 minutes. Membership Fees See back page for membership prices and info or call 464-5100. All memberships include the following: • Use of Weight Room and Cardio Room • 1 on 1 session with Training Centre staff • Ability to book and use of 2 squash courts • Reduced rate on babysitting and classes that require registration • Free access to swims, skates and all land and water aerobics as per schedules. Lane swimming is restricted to those over the age of 13. To encourage family participation, children must be with a parent in the water during family swim times. All children under the age of 8 yrs. must be accompanied by an adult in the water. There will be 2 dance terms offered for 2015/2016: Term 1: Sept. 21 - Jan. 24 (no classes Dec. 13 - Jan. 3) Term 2: Jan. 25 - May 29 (no classes Mar. 14-20 & Mar. 25-31) Tap Beige shoes for all levels. Notice for new students *Free placement consultation To receive the most benefit and enjoyment from our dance program, your child’s placement in the correct level, based on their individual skills is critical. Please note the following: New students 2-5 years of age: please enroll your child in the applicable toddler/pre-school level based on your child’s age as of Oct. 1, 2015. New students ages 6 years and up or students transferring from another school can contact Lisa Hart for a no-cost placement test prior to registering to ensure correct placement. Exams, training, maturity, and experience are all criteria affecting placement. Adults Comfortable attire, correct shoes for the discipline taken (see level 3 & up for appropriate shoes) DRESS CODE Dance Toddler/Creative Movement Pink body suit, pink tights, pink ballet leather shoes are mandatory and pink skirt is optional. Pre-School/Children’s Combo/Level 1&2 Pink body suit, pink tights, pink ballet leather shoes, beige tap shoes are mandatory & pink ballet skirt is optional. Modern Black bodysuit, black jazz pants or shorts, bare feet Boys (all levels) White t-shirt, black pants or tights, black ballet, jazz and tap shoes Please note: • Those in combination classes are not required to change tights, although the listed colour of tights will be required for the recital • Girls’ hair in a bun, off neck and face for all classes • NO food, gum, jewellery, cell phones or cameras permitted in class, water bottles only please • Ballet shoes must be proper leather ballet shoes, NO gymnastics shoes please Exams Although not compulsory, they prove to be an invaluable tool for students, parents and teachers to measure success. Due to the high standard of CDTA (Canadian Dance Teacher’s Association) exam students may not be ready to take an exam in each discipline at each level. Exams are taken at the teacher’s discretion. Exams in Grade 2 and up require at least 2 classes per week to be eligible. Students enrolling in more than one class in any one discipline are requested to contact a member of the Dartmouth Dance Academy staff before enrolling to ensure correct placement. STEP 1: Canadian Swim Patrol (optional) Description This Lifesaving Society program is the on-ramp to Lifeguarding. It provides enriched training for those who are ready to go beyond swim lessons. The three levels (Rookie, Ranger, Star) continue to develop participants’ swim strokes and provide the skill foundation that prepares them for success in the Society’s Bronze Medal awards. Prerequisites Ability is the only prerequisite. Designed for 8-12 years of age. Description This award is the Pre-Bronze Medallion training standard and it provides excellent preparation for success in obtaining the Bronze Medallion award. Participants develop problem-solving and decision-making skills as they relate to water rescue and First Aid.
