Prayer Ministry is available at the end of
every meeting. If you would like prayer
please do speak to someone who is
wearing a prayer ministry badge as these
people are trained and accountable.
And finally, do please feel free to contact us
if we can be of any further help, either at

Community Life and Pastoral Care
We believe that relationship should lie at the heart of
all we do and so we encourage everyone to belong
to one of our small groups. We have a varied small
group structure and our desire is that everyone in
Bath City Church has someone who is looking out
for them. Pastoral care is provided through these
groups. In addition we have Community Elders who
oversee groups of up to 50 people, providing
support to group leaders as well as looking out for
folk not yet part of a group.

News from India
Stewart Keiller, Dan
Hogston and Ray Mort
travelled to India on
Monday. Dan writes:
‘Seen God do some amazing
things: deaf ears open, all sorts
of pain instantly go, backs healed, legs
healed, people touched by the Holy Spirit.
We've been to a Leprosy colony, visited
dump children, a widow’s home, a sewing
centre. We're seeing God transform a
region through the faith and obedience of a
great local leader. We preached to 300
pastors across the region today (Thursday),
and Stewart led an open air crusade and
led 100's people to Jesus... I got to pray for
many sick and saw many get healed .
Jesus is an awesome God that saves,
heals and delivers!!’
Note from Stewart: ‘As a church we gave
money for sewing machines, so 15 women
in a remote village get to learn how to sew
for their village. The village leaders say it
has been transformational for the village.’

All families have a certain way of doing
things, a certain characteristic, a shared
identity. Well the same is true of a church
family!
Here at Bath City Church we have ways of
doing things, ideas that we hold to be
important, a particular emphases on
doctrine and practice.
Our vision and values course will help you
understand what makes us tick, what is
important to us and what and why we do
certain things.
Starting on Monday 4 November: 7.30pm
the course runs over 3 consecutive weeks.
To book a place please phone Reception
on 01225 463 556 or fill in the online form.

to invite our not-yet-Christian friends along
to. Buy your ticket, come again for free, as
many times as you can, bringing different
friends with you each time!
Why not be creative in who you invite? We

The Sunday Centre
Bath Foodbank
A message from
Foodbank co-ordinator,
Jillian Tempo…
We are looking for people to help us with
sorting out the food and we have sessions
on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from
10am for two or three hours – no need to
stay that long. As we sort in the open air, it’s
weather permitting.
Every Sunday a team from one or two
Bath churches takes it in turn, every eight
weeks, to prepare and serve a full meal for
the homeless at lunchtime (usually at the
Nexus Methodist Church in Walcot).
For the last 18 years Tim
Wheeldon has quietly and
efficiently led a team from
Bath City Church taking our
turn on the rota. It is a
remarkable period of long
service, carried out in Tim's
characteristic, unassuming,
servant hearted manner.
Tim has finally decided to call it a day and
served his last turn of duty on Sunday
29 September.
We want to honour and commend him
both for his time, his hard work, and above
all his amazing attitude in fulfilling this
responsibility on behalf of us all.
Over the years a significant number of
people have served on the team, including
Mike and Mandy Moon who have decided
to finish alongside Tim. We want to thank
them too for all that they have done in
helping out.
We will be continuing the work that Tim
has led so well. So, if you are interested in
joining the team to help out, even if it is
just to see what happens, please contact
Nigel Stenning: 01225 463 556

Wessex Water have just donated a van to
us, so we also require some volunteer
drivers/loaders.
If you are over 25 with a full clean licence
and are interested in helping, please phone
Jillian on 07870 573 493 .
Soup Run
Sue Hill is looking for a
volunteer from our church
family to join the team on
a Sunday evening to
distribute food at the Soup Run.
No experience necessary, but ideally she
would value having someone who has a
car. Why not come and give it a go before
committing to a rota?
Please contact Sue: 01373 834 727
or 07843 751 572
Blankets wanted
Do you have any old spare warm clean
blankets (not cellular) that you are willing to
donate to the Soup Run, so that we can
give them out to the homeless?
If so, please

School Years 9 - 12
Today you are serving!!
There are many things we value
at different times and in the
changing circumstances of life and today
with so many technological advances and
distractions we can always be very busy
with our own lives. So often we don't
consider others; friends, family neighbours
and acquaintances unless we need them or
they need us. So do we really value them?
What would you be willing to sacrifice, to
protect what you most treasure i.e. family,
relationships lifestyle, your job and money?
In what way do we value them?
Would you be willing to sacrifice some
lifestyle choices such as; time on Facebook,
watching the latest TV show or would you
make a decision to spend more time with
God?
Are you willing to sacrifice money you
spend on yourself for meals out or the
newest phone, to support people in the
world where suffering is occurring?
The Lord will bless us for all that we do. He
is no mans debtor and will bless us for
feeding the hungry and helping the poor.
The Lord cherishes us as His sons of
daughters of the kingdom!
Think about your values and sacrifices this
week as you read the word and quietly
listen to what God is saying to you.
Know therefore that the Lord your God is
God; he is the faithful God, keeping his
covenant of love to a thousand generations
of those who love him and keep his
commandments. (Deuteronomy 7:9 NIV)
