Mindestteilnehmerzahl bei Ausflügen mit dem Bus: 20 Personen

STADTRUNDFAHRT ANTWERPEN
Die Abläufe innerhalb der einzelnen Ausflüge können variieren, dies
hängt u.a. vom Verkehrsaufkommen in den Städten oder den Öffnungs­
zeiten der Einrichtungen ab.
Achten Sie bitte bei Stadtrundgängen auf festes Schuhwerk und bequeme, wetterfeste Kleidung.
Bei individuellem Landgang denken Sie bitte daran, rechtzeitig vor
Abfahrt des Schiffes an Bord zu sein. Sollten Sie die Abfahrt verpassen,
müssen Sie auf eigene Kosten zum nächsten Anlegehafen kommen. Die
Uhrzeit für die späteste Rückkehr an Bord entnehmen Sie bitte dem
jeweiligen Tagesprogramm.

Die folgende Tabelle soll Ihnen eine kleine Hilfe sein, um die ungefähre Länge des Fußweges einschätzen zu können.
Gerne können Sie sich bei Fragen natürlich auch direkt an Ihre
Kreuzfahrtenleitung wenden.

Bei diesem Ausflug entdecken Sie Antwerpen, eine der größten Hafenstädte
Europas. Sie spazieren durch das attraktive Zentrum und besuchen die zum
UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe zählende Kathedrale mit Werken von Pieter Paul
Rubens, der in Antwerpen lebte und arbeitete. Traditionell gilt die Stadt als
wichtigster Diamantenhandelsplatz der Welt. Über 60% der weltweiten
Produktion von rohen und geschliffenen Steinen wird hier gehandelt. Nach
der Stadtbesichtigung haben Sie die Möglichkeit, einen Diamant-Händler zu
besuchen (abhängig von den Öffnungszeiten), oder Sie begeben sich mit
Ihrem Guide noch auf einen kurzen Rundgang durch die Umgebung.

Nach einer kurzen Busfahrt erreichen Sie Brügge. Die Stadt wird aufgrund
ihres Kanalsystems auch als „Venedig des Nordens“ bezeichnet. Noch heute
herrscht in Brügge eine mittelalterliche Atmosphäre, welche die Stadt zu
einer der romantischsten und schönsten Städte Europas macht. Die UNESCO
hat das gesamte historische Stadtzentrum als Weltkulturerbe anerkannt. Bei
einem ausgedehnten Stadtbummel laufen Sie durch ein mittelalterliches
Labyrinth aus gepflasterten Gässchen und romantischen Grachten und entdecken so die Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt. Vor allem der Markt, die Burg
und die Heilig-Blut-Basilika sind sehenswert.

Nach einer komfortablen Busfahrt erreichen Sie Brüssel, die Hauptstadt
Belgiens. Der Ausflug beginnt im grünen Stadtteil von Leaken, in dem sich
Sehenswürdigkeiten wie das Heyzel-Stadium, die Notre Dame von Leaken,
das Atomium oder die Königliche Residenz befinden. Anschließend streifen
Sie kurz durch den östlichen Teil der Stadt – genauer gesagt den
Cinquantenaire-Park – mit den beeindruckenden Gebäuden der Europäischen

STADTRUNDFAHRT GENT

Entdecken Sie eine der attraktivsten Städte Belgiens mit ihrem reichen Erbe
an mittelalterlichen Gebäuden. Sie sehen u.a. die beeindruckende Festung
Gravenstein und besichtigen die prachtvolle Sankt Bavo Kathedrale. Die
Festung wurde im 12. Jahrhundert vom Graf von Flandern nach seiner
Rückkehr von den Kreuzzügen errichtet. Heute ist die Anlage eine der gewaltigsten Wasserburgen Europas. Während des weiteren Rundgangs spazieren
Sie durch das schöne Zentrum der Stadt mit seinem Glockenturm, in dem 54
Glockenspiele erklingen. Auch die Besichtigung der Kathedrale St. Bavo, in
der Sie eines der bedeutendsten Kunstwerke des Mittelalters – den Genter
Altar – bewundern können, gehört zu dieser Stadtbesichtigung. (Seit Herbst
2012 wird der Genter Altar im Museum für schöne Künste in Gent restauriert.
Dafür werden abwechselnd Teile des Altars abgebaut und das Kunstwerk wird
von daher bei Besichtigungen nicht vollständig zu sehen sein.)

BULGARIEN
AUSFLUG VELIKO TARNOVO € 40,00
Mit komfortablen Bussen fahren Sie in die mittelalterliche Metropole Veliko
Tarnovo, die malerisch an den beiden steilen Ufern des Flusses Jantram
liegt. Die stilvollen Bauten sind in den felsigen Hügeln terrassenförmig
übereinander gebaut. Sie kommen auch an der Festungsanlage Zarewez
vorbei, in der 22 Zaren die Geschichte des 2. Bulgarenreichs geschrieben
haben. Ein Fotostopp bei einer Aussichtsterrasse, von wo Sie einen wunderbaren Blick auf die Festung haben, ist auch Teil des Ausflugs. Sie besichtigen auch die Kirche zum Heiligen Peter und Paul welche auch ein anschauliches Kunstwerk aus dem 12. Jahrhundert ist .In der Ladenstraße können

Mannheim – das zweitgrößte Barockschloss Europas. Sie machen einen
kurzen Spaziergang durch den Luisenpark mit seiner vielfältigen Pflanzenund Tierwelt. Der Mannheimer Luisenpark ist bekannt als eine der schönsten Parkanlagen Europas. Bei der weiteren Rundfahrt sehen Sie auch die
berühmten „Quadrate“ und Sie erhaschen auch einen Einblick in den
Mannheimer Hafen, einen der größten Binnenhäfen Deutschlands. Während
des Ausflugs werden Fakten genannt wie auch unterhaltsame Geschichten
erzählt, sei es wie die Stadt zu den Quadraten kam, welchen Bezug z.B.
Schiller und Mozart zu der kurfürstlichen Residenzstadt haben oder welche
Erfindungen von Mannheim aus in die Welt zogen.

Ein Transfer bringt Sie von der Schiffsanlegestelle bis zum Barockschloss
Mannheim wo Ihr Rundgang durch das heutige, etwa 400 Jahre alte
Mannheim, beginnt. Sie kommen unter anderem vorbei an der Jesuitenkirche
– eine der schönsten Barockkirchen Süddeutschlands – , der Synagoge und
dem Alten Rathaus. Bei den Kapuzinerplanken haben Sie dann Zeit um den
dortigen handwerklichen Weihnachtsmarkt zu erkunden. Anschließend spazieren Sie mit Ihrem Guide weiter zum Wahrzeichen der Stadt – dem
Wasserturm – und weiter zum Carl-Benz-Denkmal, von wo Sie Ihr Bus
wieder abholt und zurück zum Schiff bringt.

Die staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Meissen umfasst eine Schauhalle
sowie eine Schauwerkstatt. Erstere ist der öffentlich zugängliche Teil des
umfangreichen Museumsbestandes, wo alljährlich etwa 3.000 Exponate des
rund 20.000 Stück umfassenden Gesamtbestandes ausgestellt werden.
Immer wieder gibt es Neues, Unbekanntes zu entdecken, da selten oder
bisher nie gezeigte Porzellane wieder ins Blickfeld der Öffentlichkeit gelangen. Der Schauhalle angeschlossen ist die Schauwerkstatt. Hier werden die
einzelnen Arbeitsbereiche von der Geschichte des Porzellans, über die praktische Ausformung bis hin zur Modelage und der Glasurmalerei in einzelnen
Fertigungsschritten vorgeführt und an Beispielen verdeutlicht.

Beaune steht die Besichtigung des Hôtel-Dieu, welches im Jahre 1443 als
Hospiz gegründet wurde, auf dem Programm. Das „Hôtel-Dieu de Beaune“
blickt auf eine mehr als 500-jährige Geschichte zurück und diente bis ins
Jahr 1971 der Krankenpflege. Heute ist es eines der sehenswertesten
Museen Frankreichs. Die vier Gebäude, die der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich
sind, repräsentieren das Hôtel-Dieu in früheren Zeiten. Die Räumlichkeiten
sind mit Schätzen überfüllt: Statuen, Möbel, Keramik, Gemälde,
Wandteppiche….; und die Küche wurde genauso restauriert wie sie im 19.
Jahrhundert ausgesehen hat. Das bedeutendste Kunstwerk ist sicherlich das
große Polyptychon des Jüngsten Gerichts, ein Meisterwerk des flämischen
Malers Rogier van der Weyden.

Die „Pont du Gard“ ist das größte noch erhaltene Stück des einst fünfzig
Kilometer langen Aquädukts, welches von den Römern in der Mitte des ersten

Bei diesem Ausflug erleben Sie das geschichtsträchtige Topola, welches in
der Nähe Belgrads liegt. Die Stadt wurde von Karadjordje Petrovic, dem
Anführer des Ersten Serbischen Aufstandes gegen die Osmanen (18041813), als Hauptstadt des aufständischen Serbiens gegründet. Auf einem
Hügel bei Topola, in Oplenac, befindet sich die St. Georgs-Kirche aus weißem Marmor. Sie wurde von Karadjordje gestiftet und in ihr ruht fast das
gesamte Adelsgeschlecht der serbischen, später jugoslawischen Herzogsund Königsfamilie Karadjordjevic. Alle Könige, mit Ausnahme des letzten

Savoyen war schon zu Lebzeiten eine Legende. Als Kunstliebhaber stellte

brillante Architekt Lucas von Hildebrandt war für die Ausführung des meisterhaften Konzeptes zuständig, welches aus einem prächtigen Palast, schön
angelegten Gärten und einem idyllischem Landsitz bestand.
Unter seiner späteren Besitzerin – Kaiserin Maria Theresa – wurde das
palastartige Gebäude um eine Etage erweitert und im Stil des französischen
Klassizismus umgebaut. Nach ihrer Zeit verebbte das Interesse der
Habsburger an ihrem Landsitz, aber heute präsentieren sich die kaiserlichen
Appartements, der Festsaal und die Kapelle wieder so, wie sie einst von den

1,000 mills, and nowhere can such a large concentration of windmills be
found as near Kinderdijk. No less than 19 sturdy mills were built here
around 1740, and they have been well preserved to the present day. The
name Kinderdijk, or "Children dike" refers to a folktale of a child being
saved by a cat during the Saint Elizabeth flood in 1421.

used and how they have been replaced by modern pump stations. You will

Discover Bucharest – also known as the Little Paris of the East – and enjoy
this old European City’s charm with its beautiful architecture, wide boulevards and parks. The main boulevards cross the city from north to south, from
the Arch of Triumph to the Civic Centre and are intersected with those running
from east to west, so there is a resemblance with American cities as well.
First thing to do in Bucharest is a photo stop at the parliament, before we take you
for lunch in a typical Romanian restaurant. The tour continues along the cities
magnificent boulevards lined with impressive buildings, which give the city a
certain Gallic flair. Afterwards you will have a guided walk through the newly
designed pedestrian area and you will visit a Romanian Orthodox Church as well.
Plenty of time is allowed for shopping expeditions to buy gifts and souvenirs.

Let this city captivate you with its charm as we take a tour round it. After a
short drive that includes the city’s ring road, with its famous Spalen gateway
and the picturesque St. Alban district, you then discover Basel in the course
of a 90-minute tour on foot. The authentic medieval appearance of Basel’s
historic quarter never fails to delight travelers, as indeed it pleases its inhabitants. The cathedral, the glorious guildhalls, manor houses, and numerous
historic buildings all bear witness to the ecclesiastical and secular wealth
that has managed to survive to this day. You walk up the splendid Münster
hill, seeing notable sights as you go, and then enjoy a breathtaking
“Rhineland” view out over the Rhine. At the end of the walk there’ll still be
sufficient free time to look round a little on your own before the bus takes
you back to the ship.

CITY TOUR BELGRADE
Belgrade, one of the oldest European cities and capital of Serbia, lies at the
junction of the Danube and Sava. The city offers a large number of monuments from different eras and different cultures. First the tour takes you to the
Kalemegdan fortress, where you visit the army museum as well as the Turkish
bath. From here, you also have an impressive panoramic view over the
Danube and the Sava River. Afterwards you can see the National Museum, the
parliament, the Terazije square and the palace of princess Ljubica. Another
highlight is the St. Sava cathedral, the largest Orthodox church in the world.
After a refreshment break at the Hotel Majestic our tour ends with a visit to
the pedestrian zone, where you find many shops and art galleries.

CITY TOUR NOVI SAD AND SREMSKI KARLOVCI

Novi Sad is the second largest city of Serbia. A stroll through the city recalls
the time of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. During the tour you will see the
catholic St. Mary's church, the orthodox church of St. George and the home
of Albert Einstein. On the way to Sremski Karlovci you pass by the fortress
Peterwardein, which was built as one of Europe's largest defence objects in
the 18th century by the French architect Vauban. Sremski Karlovci awaits
you with a series of cultural and historical monuments. Discover during a
tour in the baroque old town the cathedral, as well as the Patriarch’s Palace
and the theological school. After a break with refreshments, the bus will take
you back to the ship.

A coach drives you through Belgrade by night to a hotel in the centre, where
there’s a splendid display of folklore. The ensemble invites you for a glass
of wine and puts on dances from all parts of the country. The costumes are
very colourful, and various pieces of Serbian folk music are performed.
Then you drive to Skadarlija, the famous artists’ quarter, also known as the
Montmartre of Belgrade. You are served Serbian specialities accompanied
by live music played by a Serbian band.

The tour leaves Belgrade by bus and heads in southern direction through the
picturesque landscape of Sumandja to Topola, site of the initial national uprising
against the Turk domination in 1804. Karadjordje, the leader of the revolt, built
a small fortress with a church at this location. From Topola you drive to the
nearby town of Oplenac, which stands in a rich agricultural area covered by
poplar, maple and oak trees. Here you visit the Royal Mausoleum of the Serbian
dynasty, inside the magnificent St George’s Church, built of white marble and
decorated inside with beautiful mosaics. The mausoleum contains about 20
tombs of members of the Serbian and former Yugoslavian royal families.

SLOVAKIA

On this tour you have the chance to get to know the capital of the young
Slovakian Republic. Passing by the home of the Slovak Philharmonic
Orchestra, the old city walls and the summer residence of the archbishop,
the current residence of the president of Slovakia, a coach will bring you to
the castle of Bratislava high above the city. From the hilltop you can enjoy
a beautiful view onto the castle facility. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to participate in a guided walking tour through the restored old town.
From Michael's Gate you will leisurely stroll through the historic city centre
where you can admire sights such as the Primatial Palace, St. Martin
Cathedral, a former coronation cathedral of Hungarian kings, as well as the
Academia Ostropolitana, the oldest university of the city which dates back
to the 15th century. In addition to numerous palaces, you will also walk past
the main square with the old City Hall, the Opera House and Ganymede's
Fountain.

IMPERIAL FESTIVAL PALACE – CASTLE HOF
From Bratislava the Bus takes you to Castle Hof in Austria. The magnificent
complex was built in the early 18th century through the efforts of two of the
most important personalities of the Austrian Baroque period. Field Marshall
Prince Eugene of Savoy was already a legend in his lifetime. An enthusiast
for the arts, he provided almost unlimited funding for the construction which
the brilliant architect Lucas von Hildebrandt used to realise his virtuoso
concept of a unique ensemble, comprising a magnificent palace, beautifully
designed terraced gardens and an idyllic country estate. Under its later
owner, Empress Maria Theresa, an additional storey was added to the palatial building, which was remodelled in the style of French Classicism in
accordance to the tastes of the time. Unique in Europe, this world of adventure has ever since become a top destination for those who seek culture,
nature and delight and want to explore the fascinating world of the Baroque
in all its authenticity and diversity in an historical ambience.
