The third baby of the new year at Lafayette General is
born to one of our residents. Mother and Baby are doing fine. Praise God!

Phil Camel brings many years of business consulting management experience to the DesOrmeaux Foundation. He will be
tasked with formalizing a system where we will be able to
expand our scope and reach to all the parishes in the diocese.
He will also expand our Baby Bottle Campaigns to additional
parishes, schools and organizations that embrace the mission of the Foundation. He will expand the awareness of our Home and spread the advertising word of the Boutique. Phil will also be looking to create ad placement in the newsletter to go out to our almost 15,000 addresses! So

This Spring, TOB video programs for adults, will be offered in 4 different locations in the Diocese.

Opelousas: Holy Ghost Parish, 6:30-8 pm, Wednesdays, April 20, 27 and May 4, 11

There is no charge and materials are provided in part by DesOrmeaux Foundation and a grant from the Office

***The video-series "The Gift" has been approved for 6 hours toward Catechist certification and for
credit-hours for Catholic School teachers.
TOB is the New Evangelization Tool aimed at strengthening Family and Marriages. It is the theological
foundation of the Culture of Life.
*Recently 90 teens from St. Anne's in Youngsville received 3 hours of TOB instruction
Plans are being implemented to bring TOB to students at Teurlings Catholic in the coming year.

Recently, a 28 year old single mother of two came into the center
to receive what she thought was the consultation she needed for an
abortion. She was totally distraught and agonizing over this decision.
When I asked her what she was thinking, she replied " I am in no
place to have this baby. I'm basically homeless and have no idea
where my next meal is coming from."
She continued with saying "I have battled with this decision for
weeks and I have no other choice but to go through with the procedure."
My client's mom had kicked her out after the news of her 3rd unplanned pregnancy.
The father of her unborn baby was just a "friend" and wanted
no part of being a father to this child.
As the consultation went on, I could see a since of hope come back
into her eyes. An ultrasound revealed that she was 14 weeks and 3
days pregnant. When she heard her baby's heartbeat, I knew that
she was choosing LIFE for her unborn baby.
When she returned for her second ultrasound a few weeks later,
she was a different person. She knew the road ahead would not be
easy, but she now had hope. Things with her living situation had improved and she found out that day that she was having a baby girl.
This once broken woman now had hope.
Please continue to pray for our Center and for the women and
babies that are threatened by abortion. God Bless! Julee

over and beyond making a difference in these women and babies
lives. It’s a blessing that God sent you to become part of our
family by love.
Please keep our home in prayer and refer young mothers
in a homeless situation. We promise that they will be well cared for.
We cannot do this without you. Together we will continue to
save babies and give guidance to their mothers.

faithfulness we have had a record breaking year in
donations and sales.
Our annual Celebrate Life Banquet is slated for Feb.
19 at 6:30 PM at Petroleum Club. We could use a few
volunteers to help us wash, mend, and iron baby
clothes for the banquet. We have some beautiful items
coming for Spring and Summer. If you can help, please
call the boutique at 337-232-4091.

It’s a girl!!! Our newest resident, Chelsea gave
birth to Jaycee Renee on New Year’s Day. She is very healthy
weighing 7lbs 11oz. Chelsea’s plan is to find a job and housing
until she can return to school in the Fall. She plans to continue
her path in nursing.
After twelve months with us Kristina is getting ready
to spread her wings . By the grace of God and your support,
Kristina has grown into a wonderful young lady. She has completed her courses for Medical Office Assistant and Medical
Insurance Coding and Billing Specialist. She is currently looking for a job. We are praying that there is a generous couple that
is able to help provide transportation to help transport her and
baby Ella. If anyone can help with a job and/or vehicle, please
contact the Center.
