2014 – Year of Change: Considerations for a
Prospective M&A Seller
Session Sponsor: Stearns Lending, Inc.
Some entrepreneurial owners of independent mortgage companies are contemplating the feasibility of selling their company.
The more challenging market conditions for 2014 appears to
be accelerating this thinking process. Our panel will explore at
a high level a range of factors which should be considered and
positioned to optimize a mortgage company sale experience:
who are today’s buyers, production and organizational characteristics which drive value, impact of compliance in the negotiations, establishing realistic financial expectations, realities of
deal structuring and pitfalls to avoid. In addition, one of the key
values in an equity purchase is the licensure posture of the target entity. Our panel will discuss licensing considerations both
pre- and post- sale.
