Low Maintenance
DuPont™ Corian® solid surface is easy to clean and is NSF/ANSI 51 Certified (pdf) for food contact.
Because Corian® is nonporous, stains do not penetrate the surface. With proper cleaning, Corian® also
resists the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria.
Seamless Elegance
Corian® products such as sinks and backsplashes can be perfectly integrated to create the illusion of a
single, solid surface. With a cove-backsplash there are no cracks to collect dirt and moisture.
Reputation for Excellence
DuPont invented solid surfaces and have worked to continually improve our portfolio. As a result,
Corian® has consistently attained a customer satisfaction rating of 96%.
Exceptional Warranty
Every Corian® solid surface countertop from DuPont is covered by a limited-warranty for product and
installation.
Caring for DuPont™ Corian® Solid Surface
DuPont Corian® solid surface was created for a lifetime of easy care. Just follow the
simple guidelines listed here to help you keep your Corian® surfaces looking fresh.
Routine care of your Corian Countertop
There are three types of Corian® countertop finishes: matte/satin, semi-gloss and high-gloss. If you are
uncertain what type of finish you have, contact your local retailer/installer where it was purchased from.
Most countertops are finished with a matte/satin finish. All Corian® sinks have a matte/satin finish.
Soapy water, ammonia based cleaners (not window cleaners as they can leave a waxy build up that may
dull the surface) or commercially available solid surface cleaners will remove most dirt and residue from
all types of finishes. Stubborn residue will require a little stronger cleaner. Follow the recommendations
listed below to properly clean your countertop and sink.
Experience has shown that a film builds up on the surface if water is left to dry on the countertop. This
film will dull the look of the countertop making the finish appear blotchy and uneven. To prevent buildup
of the film, it is very important to wipe the countertop completely dry after spills and cleaning.
Some colors of Corian® may require more frequent cleaning to maintain a uniform finish. Darker colors
tend to require more attention than lighter colors. Over time, even with proper care, your countertop will
acquire a patina, changing the appearance of the finish. You may restore the look of the original finish by
following the refurbishing guidelines on the next page.
A KEY TO KEEPING YOUR COUNTERTOPS LOOKING GOOD IS TO
THOROUGHLY RINSE AND WIPE COMPLETELY DRY AFTER CLEANING.
Countertops
Most Dirt & Residue
Use soapy water, ammonia based cleaner, (not window & Residue cleaner) rinse and wipe completely
dry. Commercially available solid surface cleaners, such as Clean EnCounters® will also work well.
Preventing Hard Water Marks
Hard Rinse and wipe completely dry after cleaning; Water Marks clean up spills before they dry.
Removing Hard Water Marks
Use cleaner formulated for removing hard water marks, such as CLR® or Lime-A-Way®.
Difficult Residue
Spray residue with Deep Cleaner for DuPont Corian® Residue from Stone Care International. Follow
instructions on the bottle. If residue persists, repeat process. Wash area with soapy water, rinse and wipe
completely dry. If residue persists, follow steps below for removing dulling film.
Disinfecting
Occasionally wipe surface with dilute household bleach - 1:100 (5 Tbsp. of bleach to 1 gallon of water.
As recommended by the centers For Disease Control and Prevention for disinfection of surfaces.)
SINKS
Cleaning
Follow procedures above or use Soft Scrub® and a Scotchbrite® pad to remove residue. Rub
Scotchbrite® pad over entire sink to blend in finish. NOTE: Do Not Use Scotchbrite® pad on countertop
surface as this will dull the surface!
Disinfecting
Fill your sink ¼ full with diluted household bleach (5 Tbsp. bleach to 1 gallon water). Be sure to get some
of the solution into the overflow opening to disinfect. Let the solution stay in the sink for 15 minutes; then
wash sides and bottom as solution drains. Rinse out the sink with water.


Avoid getting the bleach solution in your eyes or on bare skin. Always follow the bleach
manufacturer’s safety instructions when working with bleach.
To enhance the gloss level on semi-gloss and high-gloss finishes, use a countertop polish such as
Countertop Magic®, Hope’s Perfect Countertop® or Enhance Countertop Polish®.
Preventing Heat Damage
While DuPont Corian® is heat resistant, as with all countertop materials, it is important to minimize
direct heat exposure to protect your surface and investment.
DO NOT PLACE HOT POTS, PANS, ETC., DIRECTLY ON THE COUNTERTOP
SURFACE
Always use heat trivets or hot pads when placing hot objects on any surface. Always use a trivet under
portable heat generating appliances such as a toaster oven. Allow cookware to cool before placing it into a
Corian® sink.
Preventing Other Damage
In most cases Corian® can be repaired if damaged. Be sure to follow these guidelines to help you prevent
permanent damage to your Corian®.



Avoid getting strong chemicals, such as paint removers, oven cleaners, etc., on your Corian®
countertop. If a spill does occur, promptly flush the surface with water to fully rinse off the
chemical.
Do not cut directly on Corian® countertops. Use a cutting board.
Boiling water alone will not damage your Corian® sink; however, it is a recommended practice
to run cold water from the faucet while pouring boiling water into the sink
Removing Blotchy Appearance or Fine Scratches
You may notice that the surface of your countertop begins to look blotchy. Typically this is caused by
leaving hard water to dry on the surface which will leave a film of minerals. To remove blotchy
appearance or fine scratches:


Pour some mild abrasive liquid cleanser, such as Soft Scrub®, on a damp sponge or cloth and rub
over area using small circular motions, from the front to the back, then side to side, overlapping
the circles until the entire area has been cleaned.
Thoroughly rinse the top with clean water and Wipe Surface Completely Dry.


Check to see if blotchiness is gone. If not, repeat procedure applying more pressure on the sponge
or tag.
Continue over all affected areas until all film is removed.
Note: While this procedure may remove or minimize the look of very fine scratches, other deeper
scratches may remain. They may be removed by following the procedure below or you may wish to hire a
professional refinisher to refinish your countertop. Contact the Authorized Corian® retailer from whom
you purchased your Corian® solid surface product to inquire about getting a quote for refinishing.
Removing Minor Cuts and Scratches
Because the solid beauty of Corian® goes all the way through, DuPont Corian® solid surfaces are
renewable. You can remove minor cuts and scratches yourself by following these instructions.





First, wash the area where the scratch is located, following the instructions found in this guide, to
remove any film on the surface as this film may clog the cleaning pads. With the surface still wet,
start rubbing with the peach colored side of the abrasive pad. Use a light touch. Pressing too hard
may actually leave deeper scratches. Rub over the scratch using a straight line motion.
Periodically switch rubbing direction ninety degrees. Rinse pad periodically during this process to
remove any built up residue. Be sure all of the scratch is removed.
Clean top with water and dry thoroughly. Check to see if sanded area blends with rest of top.
Please note that sanded area may not perfectly match remainder of top. If necessary, turn pad over
and repeat process. Rub over a large area to blend in sanding.
If needed, continue the sanding process using the Aqua colored pad and if necessary the Gray
color pad until the desired gloss level is achieved.
Rinse out all pads used and allow them to air dry before putting them away.
An alternative to refinishing, is to contact the Authorized Corian® retailer from whom you
purchased your Corian® solid surface product to inquire about getting a quote for refinishing.

scheduled to receive their delivery before 9 a.m., will be
called by the shipping department the night before with a
specific time window.


Standard Dealer Delivery: All deliveries are
made tailgate to the requested delivery point. It
is the receiver’s (dealer’s) responsibility to
provide adequate manpower to off-load and
move countertops to the desired location for
storage and/or use.
Jobsite Delivery: WARERITE will offload and
place tops in 1st floor locations only. DRIVER
WILL NOT PLACE COUNTERTOPS ON
CABINETS. Delivery personnel reserve the
right to evaluate the job site conditions at the
time of delivery to determine if conditions are
appropriate for safely moving the counter tops to
the desired locations. If risk of damage to the
counter tops or the customer’s home exists, the
driver will either place the counter top in another
1st floor location, or return the counter top to the
factory for later shipment. In the event of
reshipment, an additional delivery fee will be
applied.
Accuracy
Accuracy is within +/- 1/8”. If an exact measurement is
needed, specify “EXACT”.
WARERITE can only assume full responsibility for
templates, which are an exact duplicate of the desired top.
Templates, which are poorly cut or only partially made,
are not acceptable. If the customer insists that we make
the top, then the customer assumes full responsibility.
Templates must be checked in through receiving and will
be assigned an identification number. There is a
template/layout charge for dealer supplied templates.
Template and Install Contact Policy
All customers are contacted directly by the factory to
schedule template and installation times. Customers are
called within 48 hours of receiving the order from the
store. Specific times are NOT available at the time of
scheduling. The technician will call with a 3-hour time
window the night before the scheduled work is to be done.
Warranty Claim Policy
All customers, who have filed a Warranty Claim Request,
will be contacted directly by the factory. Customers are
called within 48 hours of receiving the request for a preinspection interview. If the issue requires a field
inspection, the customer will be contacted directly to
schedule a time to do so. Upon completion of the
investigation of the claim, a full report will be furnished
to the store.

Installing a One-Piece Vanity Top and Bowl
— Position the vanity onto the cabinet.
These vanities are intended for simple drop-in
installation. If the size of the vanity must be
adjusted, contact your CORIAN® supplier for
assistance. To install the vanity “as is”:
— Align the drain pipe with the bowl drain hole.
— Remove the One-Piece Vanity Top and
Bowl from the cardboard box.
— Check for shipping damage or top surface
defects. Report any problems to your
CORIAN® supplier.
— Trial fit the vanity to the cabinet and wall.
Adjust the cabinet and wall as required. The
cabinet should support the vanity on either
the cast-in lugs or directly on the underside
of the deck. Add shims if necessary.
— Determine the location of the faucet hardware
using the templates on the back of this sheet
or the template supplied with the faucet.
Be sure the escutcheon plate will fit in the
recessed ledge area.
— Drill the faucet holes and install the
faucet hardware.
— Apply silicone to the underside of the drain
cap. Install the cap.
— Install the overflow tube and mounting
ring with the larger part of the ring against
the bottom of the bowl.
— Attach the drain pipe. Tighten the nut by hand.
Then tighten with a wrench 1⁄4 additional turn.
Do not overtighten.
— Install sidesplashes, if desired, by applying
a thin bead of silicone to the bottom edge of
the splash. Then push the splash into position.
Apply another bead of silicone to seal where
the splash meets the vanity and where the
splash meets the wall. Notice that there are
left and right splashes. The sharper edges of
the splashes should face the wall.
— Clean up with alcohol and a clean cloth.
— Leave the DuPont CORIAN® Care &
Maintenance Tips Card (H-56461) for the
customer’s use.
