Dear Winter Sports School Family and Friends:
We are celebrating the close of another successful year at The Winter Sports School in Park City!
Since 1994, The Winter Sports School has prepared students for academic success in college while giving
them the opportunity to train and compete in multiple sports during their high school years. Our
students' track record in academics, community service, and sports performance is exceptional, and
they would not have been as successful without your support. ln fact, our 2010 highlights include:

Sam Dupratt'11 - Awarded Scholarship from Energy Solutions Foundation
Katie Bernhard 'LO - ZOLO lntermountain Division Scholar; Founded Non-Profit Anything Goes 7
20L0 WSS ACT Results: 1) outperformed the state and the nation with respect to overall college
readiness by a factor of 3, and 2) achieved an overall composite score of 25.5 vs. 21.8 for Utah
and 2L.0 for the United States.
2010 WSS lmplemented Series of Clinics, Seminars, and Events, i.e., WSS Pride (exterior
renovation), WSS Sports Cup (ski race), WSS 5K & Community Fair, WSS Cycling Clinic
Cam Chin '97 Named Head Conditioning Coach for the Russian Women's Olympic Ski Team
JJ Tomlinson'10 Nominated to U.S. Snowboard Team
7 WSS Alumni at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games (4 medals won) including: Steve Holcomb
(World Champion and Olympic Gold Bobsledder), Anders Johnson (Olympic Ski Jumper), Ted
Ligety (Olympic Gold Medalist), Julia Mancuso (Olympic Gold Medalist), Megan McJames
(Olympic Alpine Racer), Elli Ochowicz (Olympic Speed Skater), and Andrew Weibrecht (Olympic
Bronze Medalist)
The Winter Sports School faculty and staff look forward to helping current and future students to
continue to achieve remarkable results like those mentioned above. However, the support of our
donors is critical to ensuring the excellence of our school's programs; student tuition is just not enough
to sustain our momentum.
