Quadrille Open House:
View the Latest Collection and Custom Color Capabilities
Quadrille, Galleria 384
What are the most important tools for a designer? A good sense
of color, a cadre of talented and reliable subs and vendors are all
very important, but not nearly as vital as the ability to listen, learn,
laugh, and love. It all comes down, as poet Mary Oliver reminds us,
to attentiveness. After all, we are working to facilitate their visions,
not ours; to create a home or work environment that reflects their
needs, desires, and values (not ours). Designer and public speaker Victoria Price will share what she has learned about the art of
designing for life by listening, learning, laughing, and loving with
her clients. And, as an art historian and art dealer by training, she
will also share her belief that design is fundamentally incomplete
without art that reflects the soul of each project—and which she believes is the lynchpin that transforms good design into true design
for living. RSVP to [email protected].
Come see the Quadrille/China Seas winter collection and learn about
our fabric and wallpaper custom color capabilities. With only a 10

Thayer Coggin/Milo Baughman Road Show
Galleria Atrium, 101 Henry Adams Street
Thayer Coggin is recognized as the first American manufacturer of
residential modern designed upholstered furniture and was founded
in 1953.
Milo Baughman is universally recognized as the creator of what is now
known as Mid-Century Modern design for upholstered and case goods
residential furniture. Having been influenced by the emerging
California Modern era of the late 40’s and early 50’s, he was commissioned to develop exclusive designs for Thayer Coggin over a
fifty year period that lasted until his passing in 2003. His designs
were noted for their distinctive lines and scale. They are sophisticated “Classic Modern” as Milo defined them. The most iconic were
conceived from the early 50’s thru the mid 70’s. Those found on the
past and current vintage market, now command ever increasing premium prices and have become prized collectibles all over the world.
With the resounding renewed respect, appreciation, and demand
for these original designs, Thayer Coggin has set forth a marketing
strategy to systematically re-introduce many of these most famous
models. This total now numbers well over thirty five, and there are
many more earmarked to be brought back over the next several
years. There will be twenty eight of these designs on display.
Go on a walk in time of the historical partnership and the designs
they created with Phil Miller, Vice-President Sales and Marketing for
Thayer Coggin, Inc. The emphasis will be on the collaboration of
Milo’s design genius combined with Thayer’s engineering expertise
and entrepreneurial savvy, which was the basis for their incredible success. The fact that they created and defined the genre of
Mid- Century Modern design is what separates this discussion from
all others. Milo conceived many of the most iconic designs in the
history of this category and he has been the “inspiration” for others
to have in various ways emulated his originals. Register at
