The Summer Design Issue
Better living
by design
from the Aspen team
This is our design issue … a celebration of all that is fresh and beautiful this summer. New thinking,
new ideas, and new approaches that make our lives more aesthetically pleasing. Embracing new
thinking also translates to our unique Design Process at Aspen Ridge – an approach that makes all
the difference for our homebuyers. We take a fresh look at every site we build and create a whole new
set of floorplans and elevations for every single community. So every home Aspen Ridge builds is as
fresh, original and up-to-date as possible, truly reflecting the priorities of today’s buyer.
We build better communities by design to ensure homeowners like yourself realize your hopes
and aspirations. With more than twenty years of family experience, we have built a generation of
homes that consistently reflect our uncompromising excellence in craftsmanship, quality and care.
This excellence is evident today in communities like our ultra luxurious King Oaks in King City, the
striking MOTO Modern Towns at Kettle Lakes Club in Richmond Hill, Scenic on Eglinton – one of our
most popular downtown Toronto developments to date, and Studio on Richmond condos with the
ultimate in downtown urban convenience and cool.
We look forward to continuing to make your dreams of home ownership a glorious reality. So head
outdoors, welcome the warm weather, and enjoy your Aspen Ridge Home this summer!

Our approach
makes all
the difference.
Have you ever wondered how home builders come up with their
floorplans when they launch a new site? Many builders in the industry
simply regurgitate their existing home designs, perhaps adding an odd
modification here or there. But they don’t regularly update their designs to
reflect changing lifestyles and what people want in their homes today.
04
The Summer Design Issue
New site. New floorplans.
We do things differently at Aspen Ridge. Each new site gets a whole new set of floorplans and
elevations. We design to the site and what the market needs in that area. Perhaps it's a larger
family room, home office capability, or different closet configurations. Perhaps it's a sleek
modern exterior in an area that has only seen traditional designs up to now. Or townhomes
with bigger window panes to infuse the interior space with an abundance of natural light.
Interior designer input.
At Aspen Ridge we also invite interior designers to review the vast majority of our plans. The
interior designers enhance the vision of the architects to add an extra dimension of comfort and
livability for our homebuyers. Once again, this is not something that a lot of other home builders
do and is unique to Aspen Ridge.
Everyone gets a say.
Finally, our home plans are subjected to a number of internal reviews across the different
departments in Aspen Ridge – from architecture to sales, marketing, contracts and construction,
as well as customer feedback. This process provides a lot of different input and exciting
opinions. We put it all together and you benefit as a result with up-to-the-minute plans that
reflect everything that's important to today's homebuyer.

EXECUTIVE
COLLECTION
New 50’ model home now open
The living areas are lavish, the kitchen
stunning, and the ensuite bathroom a
spa-like oasis. In the magnificent new
Model Home, interior designer Sabrina
Albanese juxtaposed the modern interiors
with rich, opulent furnishings to create a
harmonious, transitional look.
The backdrop for lavish
living: a neutral colour
palette with accents of
rich jewel tones.
After two extremely successful phases,
Aspen Ridge has taken luxury to new
heights with the release of our Executive
Collection of single family residences on
the most sought-after 50- and 70-foot lots
at Credit Manor Heights. The unique home
designs are as magnificent as the lots
themselves. In fact, some offer stunning
backyard scenery like you’ve never
seen before.
Credit Manor Heights is located at the
Northeast corner of Mississauga Road
and Steeles Avenue West, in an already
established community with a number
of homes that are ready for you to move
into now. From this convenient location,
you have the best of both Brampton and
Mississauga at your fingertips.
06
The Summer Design Issue
Keeping the Brampton homeowner in mind,
Sabrina created the perfect backdrop for
lavish living. Working with a neutral colour
palette, she added accents of precious
items and rich jewel tones, such as hits of
gold, silver, brass, and crystal, along with
lots of velvet and silks. From the padded,
moss green headboard in the master
bedroom to the ruby red, distressed paisley
velour print on the living room chairs,
dramatic bursts of colour make a striking
statement throughout. It’s elegant European
inspired design for today’s modern family.

LET’S TAKE
THIS
OUTSIDE
Incredible edibles
While a beautiful lawn is never out
of style, edible gardens are a huge
trend for alternative landscapes.
They offer an eco-friendly harvest
of fruit, vegetables, and herbs
for the foodie in you. Allow your
homegrown goodies to take center
stage or incorporate ornamental
flowers for a garden with both
good looks and purpose.
Go from backyard to botanical garden or
anything in between with this year’s freshest
landscape design trends.
Gardens that
water themselves
Low-maintenance gardening
and efficient watering systems
are the norm now in modern
landscape design. They reflect
two important considerations
for homeowners: cost and
environment. Start your
sustainable garden by choosing
gorgeous plants or flowers that
can stand up to our cold winters
and dry summers.
Absolutely floored
Stone, granite, tile, and permeable
paving are all ideal for exterior
flooring or beautiful walkways
and steps. The exteriors should
match or complement interior
flooring – especially for openconcept designs. Take advantage
of contours in your landscape with
tiered flooring to accentuate the
slopes. It’s important to choose
flooring that can stand up to a
range of weather conditions with
minimal maintenance for carefree
outdoor living.
Cool cooking
When it’s too hot in the kitchen,
take it outdoors! Create a fully
equipped outdoor kitchen with
a stainless steel barbecue grill,
heating elements, prep sinks
and storage cupboards. A fire pit
surrounded by comfortable seating
along with a generous dining area
can turn your backyard into a fully
functional part of everyday living
and entertaining.

All decked out
Current decking trends maximize form and function. Composite wood
decking provides homeowners with hassle-free, environmentally
conscious exterior design. This engineered decking provides the look
and feel of real wood without fading, staining, scratching, moulding or
splintering. With high-performance, low-maintenance decking, you can
spend time enjoying the outdoors, not spending hours looking after it.
Countertop gardening
Countertop or windowsill herb gardens are
foolproof ways to enjoy freshness at your
fingertips. Find a spot that gets about six
hours of light a day, then plant herbs or
tomatoes and peppers in small containers.

The new community of Kleinburg Hills is surrounded by gently
rolling terrain. Yet it is still close to Main Street, Kleinburg and
the outstanding Canadian art at the McMichael Gallery. Two fully
furnished new model homes, designed by award-winning interior
designer Mike Niven, invite you to step inside and experience a
community that embraces the fine art of living well.
What you’ll notice immediately is the exceptional artwork
adorning the walls, introducing a strong burst of colour into
the model homes. As well, the impeccable finishing touches
that Aspen Ridge is known for are evident throughout the
sophisticated interiors.
THE CASSON
The Casson has a deco look but with
more of a classic feel to it with colours
and an overtone that’s on the cooler
side. Overall there’s a lot of chrome, a
lot of glass, and a lot of vintage deco
lighting in the home. The space has
tremendous life to it, but it’s far more
traditionally based and a bit too slick to
be considered vintage.

Florals are in full bloom
Florals are hardly groundbreaking in the style stakes, but patterns
this summer are really standing out. The traditionally feminine
trend is springing up all over in male fashion as of late, resulting in
a funky new unisex take on a classic. Floral patterns work best on
upholstery, pillows, throws and artwork, and blend well with most
existing décor.

Three is the
magic number
Some communities truly live up to their names.
Scenic is one of them.
Situated on the edge of vast acres of
picturesque valley parkland, the Scenic
community with its three condo towers
and stylish townhomes has been
one of our most popular downtown
developments to date.
Scenic 1 and 2 are now sold out. Excited
homeowners have moved into their
suites and are enjoying all the beauty
and convenience that surrounds them in
this ideal Leaside location.
That’s why three is the magic number!
Scenic 3 is now under construction and
suites are available with spectacular
views of the surrounding parkland from
floor-to-ceiling windows. Suites range in
size from 524 to just under 1,000 sq. ft.
In Scenic 3, the Mike Niven designed
interior amenities include a theatre, party
room, pool, sauna, zen garden and fully
equipped gym to cater to your every
desire.
Some communities truly live up to their
names. Scenic is one of them.

TORONTO events:
Condo towers Studio 1 and 2 on Richmond are
now under construction, expertly orchestrated
by Aspen Ridge Homes Site Superintendent,
Luka Zeljkovic, and Project Manager,
Armin Osmanovic.
Just as a music conductor cues symphony
musicians to play harmoniously, Luka has been
overseeing 40 different construction trades to
deliver a finely honed performance, like at Roy
Thompson Hall just down the street.
This year’s extra cold, lengthy winter delivered
its fair share of challenges, as well as the limited
staging and storage room on the Richmond
street site itself. Deliveries had to be carefully coordinated to ensure they arrived precisely
when required. When completed, the project will use 37,500 cubic meters of concrete and
4,800 tonnes of steel. Owners will begin moving into Studio 1 by the fall of 2015.
Aspen Ridge is creating an exciting new canvas for downtown living at Studio. At the same
time, the entire area around Studio is being transformed into a gloriously vibrant community
bursting with all manner of arts and culture, fine dining, shopping and entertainment. Even
more so in the summer, this already exciting area is in full swing. From bistros and wine bars
to the city’s best restaurants. From sports and special events to sunny afternoons laughing
with friends on outdoor patios. From major stage productions to ballet and opera to TIFF,
one of the world’s biggest entertainment extravaganzas happening just down the street from
Studio central. Create your own moving picture of life downtown at Studio.
