Electronic
carrier
book/PDA
-your most important
tool
You shall always bring your PDA
with you to work
work, and it must be
updated every day before you start
your route. It tells you what to
deliver and where to deliver. You
will also find important information
and a list of newspaper codes in the
PDA. If you become sick or go on
vacation, others are supposed to be
able to do the job without any
problems. Therefore the PDA must
always be correct and contain the
necessary delivery information. In
the PDA you will find important
phone numbers you can call if you
have any problems on the route.

PDA. On the next pages you will
find more information about how to
use the Electronic carrier
Book/PDA.
Afternoon distribution
Everybody working the Afternoon
shift will be using the traditional
carrier book.
When you open the electronic
carrie’s book (PDA), you will
either find the the Menu-page
or the Get Route-page.
The Menu gives you access to
all the functionalities that you
need to have as a
papercarrier
papercarrier.
How to use the
electronic
carrier book?
Get route – Choose your route,
correct date and product, and press
“Next”
Routemessages – Highlighted if
you have messages from
Aftenposten. This is important
information you have to study
carefully. Press “Next” to progress.
Messages – Highlighted if you have
received any complaints. Here you
will find the complainers and why
they are complaining. It is important
that you correct the mistake
immediately. If you are not able to
correct the mistake by yourself, call
your distribution leader. Press
“Next”.
Routeinfo – Shows which products
you are to deliver today, pick-up
place and number of bunch of keys.
Changes – Start shows customers
starting a new subscription today.
Stop shows customers stopping
their subscription today.
Productinfo – Shows the quantity
of each product you are to deliver
today. If you are lacking any
products, register it here and call
your distribution leader. Press
“Confirm” to progress.
Stamp in – Here you stamp in. If
you expect to finish your route after
route time, please enter the
estimated time for your completion.
Press “Stamp in” to start your
route.

pages.
Stamp out – Here you stamp out. If
you have a message to the
distribution leader, enter it here, but
you must also call him/her.

Main Menu. Press”Menu” if you
want to return to the main menu on
your PDA.
Displays chosen route and
distribution day.
Displays delivery points (modules).
Shows how many of each product
you have to bring for the next
delivery.
Explains how to find the next
delivery and where to deliver.
Named newspapers/products. Find
the product with the customer’s
name on it and deliver it.
Start – New customers. You shall
start delivering the product to the
customer/subscriber the day you
receive the Start-message. Press
the “Start” symbol and choose “
Have delivered” or “ Can’t find
customer”.
Key information. Displays which
keyholder and key to use to open
the doors on this address. First
number displays which keyholder to
use. Second number displays which
key to use.
Displays complaints/messages
from the customer. Make sure that
you correct the mistake and deliver
the product. Press the ! symbol and
confirm by pressing “ Have
delivered” or “ Can’t find
customer”.
Unpositioned-/Partially
positioned customers. Displays
customers with limited information
which you should find and position.
Press the … symbol and choose
correct floor and door. Press “Link”.
Mailboxrack. Displays number of
mailboxes on the rack. Make sure
you deliver in the right mailbox.

What is authorized
use?
The PDA must only be used for
work related tasks, including
downloading of routes, control of
changes, messages, placing of
clients with doubtful addresses and
signing for various deliveries.
All other use is not permitted
permitted.
How to take care of
the PDA
During distribution it is important
that you do not leave the PDA in an
unlocked car or an unwatched
trolley. When the weather is humid,
you must protect the PDA properly.

Battery charging and
technical issues
After completed
p
distribution,, yyou
must deliver the PDA at the
Carrier’s Central. It must be placed
in the assigned locker, attached to
the charger and locked in. If you
have experienced issues with your
unit, you must inform your
Distributions Supervisor
immediately so it may be repaired
without delay.
It is important that the unit is fully
charged and working properly for
the use of the next shift. It is your
responsibility to make sure it is.
