JUNE 2010 EWA Extraction of Water from Air The EWAIII produces clean, pure water by extracting h2o molecules from the atmosphere. The Goals: • To access a new, unlimited, renewable source of water. • To create an endless supply of clean water at nearly any location in the world. • To provide this water in an energy efficient, environmentally friendly way and at a relatively low cost. EWAIII You can have the convenience of industrial quantities of fresh, pure water at your location, even in the desert. In fact, anywhere! Unique Technology The EWAIII uses ground-breaking new technology to run efficiently and economically, whilst using very little energy. How much water can be extracted from the air? There are approximately 40,000 cubic metres of water in one square kilometre of air & it is constantly renewable. The Technology EWA Technology involves three complementary processes: 1. Adsorption of water from the air on solid desiccant. 2. Desorption of the absorbed water. 3. Water condensation and quality adjustment. Condensation Vapor adsorption Water desorption Modular Design EWAIII is designed as a modular system, starting with the EWAIII20, that produces 10,000 litres of water daily. More machines may be added, to produce up to 1,000,000 litres of water daily. Energy Used The EWAIII uses only 10 kW-h of electricity and 25,000 Kcal of energy to produce 1,000 litres of water. Any form of energy can be used, including any kind of residual heat. Installation The EWAIII is self-contained, the size of a standard shipping container. It can be transported to the site and positioned on any flat surface. The only installation required is the coupling of the energy source, the heater and the EWAIII unit. Operation & Maintenance EWAIII machines are fully automatic. Air filtration is not required, though the water produced is totally fresh and pure. The desiccant does not absorb any air pollution. Regular maintenance is minimal. The Environment The EWAIII will operate in any environment, where the temperature ranges from 5° to 45° Celsius and with a minimum of 20% relative humidity. Environmental Impact This technology has no environmental impact. It is at least carbon neutral & it may produce carbon credits (depending on which energy is used). It does not produce any waste or residue. Industry Potential EWAIII machines have great potential in water intensive industries, where (traditional) natural water sources are not readily available. They can be installed anywhere and do not need any piping or pumping.
