First, we would like to thank Principal Garraway, Teresa
Bazzi, and all the teachers and staff. Not only do you give
tirelessly to our school everyday, but you’ve generously
donated your time and resources to this year’s auction,
ensuring that our children not only learn, but continue to
flourish (and also ensuring some feverish bidding).
To our sponsors, your financial generosity this evening will
go far in supporting the continued educational goals we
desire for our children. We can’t thank you enough.
And, we are ever indebted to our hard-working and
dedicated Auction Committee. You’ve all worked
tirelessly over the past few months and tonight would
not be possible without your efforts.
The Maurice Sendak Community School is a special place
not only because of the devoted and caring faculty and
staff, but because of the committed parent body. We
thank our entire school community for your help in making
tonight an amazing evening of fellowship and FUNdraising.
As we come to the end of our third year, let us reflect

continue to nurture “the next great school in Park Slope.”

Bring out your child’s rockstar quality at Rock & Roll Camp! School of
Rock’s Rock & Roll performance camp is for beginners with little to no
experience. Kids will learn basic competency on an instrument (guitar,
bass, drums, keys, or vocals). It’s designed to get students playing right
away and learn to work and play effectively in a group (band). Songs
are specifically chosen for beginner students. The set list may include
songs from bands such as The Beatles, AC/DC, The Ramones, and
more. Students will put on a mini-concert in the school at the end of
day 5. You will be amazed at how far your aspiring rocker has come!
Great for ages 7–10. This comprehensive camp experience is designed
to hone music performance and ensemble skills in a creative and fun
environment. We know from experience that playing in a band situation
speeds learning and creates “seasoned” musicians. Even relatively

make when regularly playing with other musicians. Students work in a
hands-on atmosphere that includes: Learning the nuts and bolts of live

a diverse eco system like none in the world. Our Shawangunk Ridge
will impress you with its white rock face and climbers come from all
over the world the tackle it. The parks are full of trails to hike and bike
and pristine lakes to swim in. This beautiful old house has a perfect
layout, wrap-around decks, covered porch, full bath on both floors,
very functional kitchen, three comfy bedrooms, one with a queen and
two with full-sized beds, nice bathrooms, well stocked pantry, window
seats, and easy access to the area. All four seasons are amazing here.
