Still more customers are racking up their Mack Loyalty Points until they can cash in for even bigger savings, like $400 off new Oil Equipment (40,000 points) or a $300 Mack Services Credit to be used any way they like (30,000 points). Temperatures can drop quickly in October, so it’s during this month that many Pennsylvania homeowners begin turning up their thermostats before they go to sleep. Of course, October is also commonly associated with ghouls, ghosts and goblins of all sorts, but an old furnace that hasn’t been serviced in a while can haunt you much worse than them. That’s why you should have a heating tuneup performed at least once a year, and if you hear any of these sounds, call The Mack Services Group to schedule a service appointment: Last winter was a tough one, with record-low temperatures in January and record-high snowfalls in February, so the question on everyone’s mind now is "what’s in store for the coming months?” Not even meteorologists can be sure, but fortunately there is a way to ensure that you, your family and your home will be up for whatever the winter has to offer — it's a heating equipment upgrade. In addition to reducing your heating costs and your home’s carbon footprint, a heating equipment upgrade offers the following assurances, each of which will help you rest easy: 1. Y ou will get the exact temperature you want exactly where and when you want it. 2. You and your loved ones will be protected from extreme cold. 3. You will enjoy extra-comforting peace of mind, knowing that your new heating equipment is covered by the manufacturer warranty. 4. You will get money back through generous manufacturer rebates. 5. You will not have to worry about needing repeated service calls, because our NORAtrained, NATE-certified service technicians get the job done right the first time. •S creeching: could indicate that there’s a problem with the furnace’s motor. With that in mind, here's something with ingredients that everyone will recognize but a taste that's new and exciting yet still in keeping with tradition. Ingredients (Makes eight servings) For sweet potatoes 3 large garlic cloves ¼ cup olive oil 2½ pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced into half-inch-thick rounds For fried sage ¹⁄³ cup olive oil 24 sage leaves PREPARATIONS 1. Preheat oven to 450ºF with rack in upper third. 2. Purée garlic with ¼ cup olive oil and ¾ teaspoon salt in a blender until smooth. 3. Toss sweet potatoes with garlic in a large bowl, then spread in one layer across a 15"x10" shallow baking pan. 4. Bake until golden in patches and cooked through (20 to 30 minutes). 5. Heat ¼ cup oil in a small heavy skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers. 6. Fry sage leaves in two batches, stirring, until crisp (30 seconds to 1 minute per batch). 7. Transfer with a slotted spoon to paper towels to drain. 8. Scatter sage leaves atop sweet potatoes and serve. 3
