(Make-up artist fiddling with Hope’s hair, Dan is looking at himself in a
hand-held mirror.)
Producer:
Places everyone. Quiet on the set. We are live in five, four, three, two
(points to the ANNOUNCER.)
Announcer:
Welcome to television’s number one news talk show, Wake Up, World!—starring
our own WUW cast and fabulous studio audience. Sit back and enjoy that last cup
of coffee as we bring you all the news of the day…Come on everyone! Wake Up!
(Audience applauds and cheers.)

Narration Scene #2
Scene 2
CD: 4
Announcer:
And now your hosts for Wake Up, World!—our own messenger of doom, Dan
Downing! (audience boos)…and our own shining star, Hope Sunshine!
(Audience applauds and cheers.) (Producer/Annoucer go to risers)
Dan:
Okay, Okay. (Dan quiets the audience.) Looks like you have quite a fan club in
our audience today, Hope.
Hope:
(to the audience) Thank you all for coming. What a joy to see you on this glorious
morning.
Dan:
Might want to tone down that smile, Hope. Remember, we are a news
organization…not a cheerleading squad. (looking into the camera)
Hope:
I just can’t help but smile, Dan. I have a heart full of joy and I just love to share it
with the world every day.
Dan:
You are truly amazing, Hope, always looking on the bright side. Ok, I think it’s
time we get to our lead stories. Today, Joe Snerdly, a local resident, was robbed at
the 1st Bank and Trust ATM machine. A thief stole all Mr. Snerdly’s money,
leaving him in ruin. Now, the “Pay or Else Loan Company” has taken his home.
Hope:
That’s just terrible!
Dan:
In a related story, the stock market has dropped 300 points! Finally, the drought in
the South has crushed the crops this season. How wonderful!
Hope:
Wonderful? That is not wonderful, Dan. Whatever can we do?
Dan:
Never fear, Hope. Bad news sells. The more gloom and doom we can send out on
the airwaves, the more viewers we have. The story of those wild fires in the West
sent ratings through the roof!
Hope:
What I remember about that story, Dan, was all the local churches helping feed
and clothe the people who were left homeless by the fire. It was a wonderful story
of kindness to our fellow man.
Dan:
Again, with the positive. You’re just not getting it. Stay with me, Hope…the more
bad news the better. I’m just telling it like I see it. You know I’m right. That’s
reality, Hope.
Hope:
Dan, you need an attitude adjustment. You are constantly looking at the glass half
empty instead of the good which is all around us.
Dan:
The more the news is bad, the more viewers are to be had. (He chuckles) I made
a rhyme!

Scene 3
CD: 6
Hope:
Enough already, Dan. That rain situation in the south is the perfect segue to
introduce our special guests. Today we have joining us the author of two books,
“I’m Praying in the Rain,” and “This Old Ark,” Dr. Ima Goodie. And joining Ima
is the host of the hit TV show “Talk to the Animals,” famed archeologist and
renowned expert on Noah’s ark, Dr. Bill Rockstone (audience applauds).
Welcome, Doctors Goodie and Rockstone!
Dan:
Did you say you were an “Ark”eologist?
Hope:
Dan, please!
Rockstone:
That’s Ok, I get that quite often…just part of the job.
Dan:
Welcome doctors. So you are here to reveal new details of the greatest natural
disaster in history…the great flood. (to the audience) I can see our rating rising!
(Back to the Rockstone and Goodie.) Rockstone, and Goodie…give us the
big picture.
Goodie:
After many years of searching in “ark”eological digs, Dr. Rockstone and I came
upon some interesting ancient film footage.
Rockstone:
(excited) Yes, we were in a major dig in the mountains of Ararat.
Goodie:
(excited) We were almost ready to pack up and head for our tents, when we came
upon this interesting find.
Hope:
Looks like some kind of old CD.
Rockstone:
Yes, but remarkably, if you place this disc into a present day DVD player
we can actually view a snapshot into the life and times of Captain Noah and his
Promise Cruise Line.
Hope:
Simply remarkable. And we have this giant projection screen assembled to reveal
to the world an exclusive look into the past.
Goodie:
Yes, for the first time, we have an inside view of what life was like for Noah, his
family, and of course life on the mighty ark. Finally, we can know Noah!
Dan:
Know a what?
Hope:
Noah.
Dan:
Tell me his name!
Rockstone:
You know, Noah!

Dan:
I’ll know when you tell me.
Hope:
Dan! (To Rockstone and Goodie) What an exciting discovery…to know more
about this wonderful man of God.
Rockstone:
Yes, truly exciting!
Goodie:
Let us fill you in on the details.

Narration Scene #4
30
Scene 4
CD: 8
Hope:
How exciting to hear about this wonderful man of the sea, Captain Noah.
Dr. Rockstone, tell us more. What kind of man was Noah?
Rockstone:
That’s a great question. Noah was truly a man of God. It is said that Noah found
favor in the eyes of the Lord.
Goodie:
Noah had a wonderful family. He had a wife and three sons: Shem, Ham,
and Japheth.
Rockstone:
The world during Noah’s time was not good. The people did not follow God.
Goodie:
So God decided to send a great flood to remove all the evil. The amazing thing
is— that in this land—it had never rained before.
Hope:
Never rained?
Rockstone:
Never.
Dan:
Sounds interesting…even to a newsman. So what happened next?
Rockstone:
God told Noah to build an ark.
Goodie:
Just imagine what it was like for Noah and his family as they obeyed God and
built the ark plank by plank for all the world to see.
Rockstone:
I think it’s time we take a peek into the past. Dr. Goodie, insert the disc.
(Dr. Goodie inserts the disc into the DVD.)
Split Track
CD: 27
(Play DVD start-up sound effect.)
(Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth appear in the TV frame in construction gear with
hammers and hard hats.)
Noah:
No, sons, God said he wanted the ark to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet
high. You need to add a foot on the top.
Shem:
Sorry dad.
Ham:

Noah:
That’s Ok, boys. I know you’re doing your best. We want the Promise Cruise to

Narration Scene #5
Scene 5
CD: 10
Dan:
Talk about bad news. I can’t imagine building that giant ark. Even with power
tools, that would be a major construction job!
Goodie:
You are right, Dan. The ark took one hundred years to build.
Dan:
One hundred years! That is unbelievable!
Goodie:
But the good thing is that Noah never gave up. He stayed faithful to God!
Hope:
So what happened next?
Rockstone:
This next segment was a wonderful find. You see, God did not only want to save
Noah and his family…
Goodie:
God wanted to save all his creation. Let’s play the footage.
Split Track
CD: 37
(Play DVD start-up sound effect.)
(The Lion, Elephant, Sheep, Bird, and Monkey enter the frame carrying suitcases.
They begin speaking to Shem, Ham, and Japheth)
Mrs. Sheep:
Excuse me, darlings, we are here for the Promise Cruise. Do you have a ship’s
steward who can take our luggage?
Japheth:
I can take that for you, ma’am.
Mr. Elephant: Oh my, this trunk is getting heavy.
Mrs. Elephant: You carry that trunk with you everywhere you go. Stop complaining and tip
the young man.
Ham:
Let me help you. We’ll put your “trunk” on the lower deck.
Monkeys:
(imitating monkey sounds) Ooh, ooh, hee, hee, ooh, ooh…
Lion:
GRRRR! Quit monkeying around! Oh my, this promise cruise will be long with
passengers like you and your wife aboard. Come dear! Let’s move starboard,
toward our cabin!
Man:
Excuse me, Mr. Lion. Are you and your wife being forced against your will to
enter this ark?
Lion:
Force a lion? God brought us here! This is going to be an incredible voyage! I’m
looking forward to the rest and relaxation. It’s a lot of work being king of
the jungle!
39

Man:
Mrs. Sheep?
Mrs. Sheep:
Yes, dear boy.
Man:
Aren’t you afraid to be on the same boat with all these wild animals?
Mrs. Sheep:
Oh, dear no! God cares for all of us and I am sure the cramped conditions will not
BAAA-ther any of us.
Birds:
(Chirp, Chirp, Squawk, Squawk…)
Mrs. Sheep:
Come along, darling. Lets follow the birds!
Shem:
Do not fear. We have all the provisions you need on board. Move along…and
remember to stay in pairs. You are welcome to join us, sir.
Man:
Oh, no thank you. I will just be going. (To his friend) What a shame. Poor Noah.
How embarrassing for his family. The ark to nowhere!
Mrs. Sheep:
Bon Voyage!
Ham:
All ashore that’s going ashore!

Narration Scene #6
Scene 6
CD: 12
(studio)
Hope:
What a wonderful story of faith!
Dan:
Noah was an extraordinary man. Was he “Man of the Year” in Dime Magazine?
Goodie:
I think not. But you are right about Noah. He was truly a great man. He did
everything…and I mean everything that God commanded him to do. And what
happened next is truly astounding!
Dan:
Ok, I’ll bite…what happened next?
Rockstone:
It rained! Not a sprinkle…or drizzle…I mean real rain! It rained like
never before!
Goodie:
According to our research, water even sprung up out of the ground.
Rockstone:
It rained for forty days and forty nights until the entire earth was completely
flooded. Sadly, all the people were lost except Noah and his family.
Dan:
A truly gloomy story. (disappointed) I was kind of hoping that things would turn
out…OK.
Hope:
Dan, do I sense a little positive attitude coming out of you?
Dan:
Maybe a little. I would like to know a Noah like that Noah.
Hope:
Dan!
Dan:
No, really. Noah believed and followed God when no one else seemed to care.
Goodie:
Never fear, Dan. The story is not over.
Rockstone:
Yes, in fact, this is where everything begins.
Dan:
So what happened? Did they sink like the Titanic? Get marooned on a deserted
island? Or land in the stomach of a whale?
Goodie:
No, that’s a story I will tell you another day. What happened next was truly
amazing. One day Noah felt the ark stop. He sent out a dove to look for dry land,
but there was water all over the earth so it returned to the ark. Let’s roll the
footage to see what happens next.

(The Lion, Elephant, Sheep, Bird, and Monkey enter the frame. They begin
speaking to Noah.)
Mr. Lion:
Noah, we really appreciate the extra days on board the Promise Cruise, but we are
thinking that a year at sea is a little bit too long.
Mrs. Sheep:
Yes, darling. We are ready for some leave. Give me some green pasture! We need
some R and R!
Noah:
It’s been seven days since I sent out the dove. (To Mr. Dove) I guess we can give
him another try. Mr. Dove, go see if you can find land!
Mr. Dove:
Sure thing, Captain!

Pass out leis & balloons
(Mr. Dove flies out to the audience. Mr. Dove returns with an olive branch and
hands it to Noah.)
Mr. Dove:
Land ho! See you all later. I’m outta here.
Shem:
All ashore that’s going ashore.
Noah:
Now, we must give thanks for all God has done for us.
Song 6
(Noah starts
building an altar.)
Noah’s
Prayer
Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals
and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. The Lord smelled the pleasing
aroma, and then God blessed Noah and his sons. He said “Be fruitful and increase
in number and fill the earth....I now establish my covenant with you and with your
descendants after you... Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a
flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth. This is the sign of the
covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a
covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it
will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds
over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant
between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the
waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the
clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all
living creatures of every kind on the earth.” (Excepters from Genesis 8-9)

Narration Scene #7
Scene 7
CD: 14
Goodie:
Then, something wonderful happened.
Rockstone:
God filled the sky with color. Suddenly, an arch of red, orange, yellow, green,
blue, indigo, and violet appeared.
Dan:
A rainbow?
Goodie:
Yes…a rainbow! This rainbow was a message from God…a promise!
Rockstone:
A promise to never destroy the world again with water. God gave Noah a new
world on the wings of a dove and each time we see a rainbow we should
remember that God placed it there to remind us of His love for us.
Goodie:
And that promise is still there for us today.

Scene 8
CD: 16
Dan:
So...God loves me?
Hope:
Sure, Dan. God loves you and me…and everyone.
Goodie:
You see, Dan, God can take a really bad situation and turn it into something
wonderful.
Dan:
What about Joe Snerdly? How can he make his life better? He lost everything!
And what about me? I’m alone in this world. My parents died a few years
ago, and…I miss them.
Hope:
So that’s why you’re such a grump.
Dan:
I guess that’s part of it. How can you make things better for Joe and for me?
Hope:
Now, it’s time for the rest of the story. It seems that the church Joe Snerdly
attended took up a collection to help him. God is there for all of us if we just
open our hearts to Him. You see, that is why I’m so happy all the time, Dan. I
have God in my life.
Rockstone:
And because God loves us, He sent us Jesus, His one and only Son, to save us.
Just like He sent the ark to save Noah. Jesus made the way for us to know God.
Hope:
God loves you, too, Dan.
Dan:
I want to know Him, Hope.
Hope:
I’m your friend, Dan…God is even a better friend. He’s there for His children
every second of the day.
Dan:
Children…what do you mean?
Hope:
To become a child of God you need to believe in Jesus. It’s easy.
Just begin right now…this moment…believe in Jesus and He will be there…
forever.
Dan:
That’s all there is to it…Believe?
Hope:
Yes, Dan. That’s it…that’s all you need to know.

Narration Scene #9
Scene 9
CD: 18
Dan:
What a great day!
Hope:
Dan, I’m seeing rainbows in your eyes and I’m liking it.
Dan:
Me, too, Hope. What a difference a day makes. I really didn’t know life could be
this good. I’m filled with hope…Hope.
Hope:
What a difference a day does make…yesterday…doom and gloom…today, with
Jesus in your heart…hope and happiness.
Dan:
You got that right, Hope. I’m a changed man…I’m a believer…I know what
Noah knew and now I know I’ll never not know the answer…I know Jesus!
Hope:
No debate, here, Dan. We at “Wake Up, World!” would like to thank our special
guests, Doctors Ima Goodie and Bill Rockstone, for sharing their marvelous story
with us today.
Dan:
Lifechanging, Hope, lifechanging.
Goodie:
Thank you, and to all you out there needing hope, remember to look up.
Rockstone:
Look to the promise of Jesus. He is the rainbow of hope in all our lives.
Hope:
This is Hope Sunshine…
Dan:
And I’m Dan…Dan…hey, I think I am gonna lose my stage name and go with
my family name…Dan Doright.
Hope:
I’m lovin’ it, Dan.
Dan:
Join us next week when we visit a man who lived in the stomach of a whale.
Hope:
Sounds like a whale of a tale to me, Dan.
Announcer:
Remember…believe in God…and His promises. He will never fail.
Producer:
This is WUW signing off. This has been a Promise Cruise Production.

Standing on the Promises Bounce
Verse 1:
Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.
Chorus:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God.
Verse 2: (Solo)
Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God.
Chorus:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God.
...Standing on the promises of God.
Verse 3:
Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call,
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God.
Chorus:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God.
... Standing, standing, Standing on the promises of God.
