Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the
World of Dance…
T
hey came from all over India to take
part in the biggest dance show to hit
the community and all one can say is that
ZYNG just wowed its way into the tempo
and beat of the magnificent world of
dance. In typical ZYNG style, the ZYNG
Ultimate Dance Show was a dazzling
display of fantastic moves, graceful
dancers and creative choreography. But it
was the amazing somersaulting B-Bo boys
of Dadar who took community talent to a
whole new level, never witnessed before.
The crazy competitive spirit did not in any
way diminish the camaraderie with which
each and every one of the talented
youngsters hugged each other as they
competed through the night. After months
of anticipation, the intense competition
among the talented finalists for the Surf
Excel ZYNG Ultimate Dance 2010 show
heightened to a point where youth and
adults alike were all brimming with
excitement, eager to discover who was
going to earn the coveted title of the

anticipation in the audience ready to
scream, shout and clap for their favourite
performers — that were truly spectacular.
For once, this ZYNG event included
families, parents, grandparents and
non-Zoroastrians who came to be
entertained, and this was widely appreciated
by all. In fact, a well-known Dadar-ite even
described it as the ‘event of the season’!

But it was Vishtasp Kothavala and his outlandish b-boying dance moves
that wowed the judges and won the audience over with his ‘hot-step’. His

With the backstage area brimming with
excitement, the group performers, already
exhilarated, got ready for the last category
of the night. The Super 6 (Marzi
Anklesaria, Michelle Anklesaria,
Khushnawaz Khambata, Gulnaz
Siganporia, Jenifer Anklesaria and Shahzad

choreography and technique. Malcolm
Baug’s Vivid 5 (Nohid Felfeli, Vahishta
Bharucha, Ayesha Parbhoo, Delfina Fitter
and Karishma Mevawalla), the spunky
all-girls group, put up a traditional tandav
depicting societal evils against women,
such as sati and female infanticide.

phenomenal show with their fast-paced
co-ordination and their mixture of
hip-hop, B-boying, contemporary and
Latin dance numbers. From their stunts to
the fancy footwork, they really gave it
their all! Even with one missed sequence,
they still managed to garner the

hile the scores were being tallied and the
participants anxiously waited in the wings,
Nauheed called Boman and the judges on stage, who,
much to the audience’s pleasure, decided to do a little
impromptu dancing of their own. For the crowd, it was
an exciting surprise and for the participants it was a
moment of inspiration. With a quick shake of the hips,

Boman had the audience going absolutely wild with
their cheers and claps, which thundered and resounded
throughout the theatre as Longi, Feroz and Geeta joined in the merriment. What a night!
It was clear that the judges had a fantastic rapport with the audience, who were absolutely
thrilled that these three world-famous choreographers-cum-dancers were amongst them.
ZYNG sincerely thanks all of them for being a part of this very first ZYNG Ultimate
Dance Competition and giving our participants the opportunity to showcase their talent.
Finally, the moment everyone had been waiting for… the finale results for each
category was announced by Nauheed with the prizes being given away by our honorary
chief guest, judges and audience members. Lucky winners received a whole array of
prizes including cash awards, gift hampers and gift certificates. The cash prizes for the
show were generously sponsored by the Kathawalla family who have invested in our
