The ZYNG Calendar launch
Well known for its eclectic tapas menu and its Saturday night
parties, Valhalla (at Churchgate) was the perfect setting for the
trendy unveiling of the latest ZYNG phenomena — the first
ever Parsi Irani ZYNG calendar.
L
eading professionals lent their talent
and name to this one-of-a-kind
project and it is no wonder that the
calendar has been a total hit with adults
and youth alike. The overall look of the
models was fashioned by India’s top stylist,
Anaita Shroff Adajania, Creative Director
of Vogue, India, who was also
instrumental in guiding the theme behind
the calendar. Bollywood hair and make-up
artist Mehera Kolah provided her magic
touch to each girl’s look. Both Anaita and
Mehera threw in their tremendous
experience to help direct some of the
shots as well. The man who is envied by
all, however, is Farzan Randelia — a
young, upcoming photographer and
ZYNG member responsible for shooting
all the models in the calendar.
With the support of these professionals
and their immense expertise, ZYNG
paired up with Valhalla to bring the
community 12 months of 12
beautiful ladies in one calendar.
Also thrown into the calendar,
besides the mouth-watering recipes
from Valhalla’s own kitchen and
bar, are the Parsi rojs (including a
short explanation of each day) to
help the youth remain connected
to their Parsi-panu.
Guest of honour, Shiamak Davar,
launched the calendar and even exclaimed,
“It’s better than the Kingfisher calendar!”
— complete kudos to the ZYNG team.
The launch itself was attended by many
prominent community members.
Photography guru Farokh Chotia, sculptor
Arzan Khambatta who attended with his
daughter, Parizad Contractor of Hi!Blitz,
Zarine Engineer and Zarine Daruwalla,
and the BPP Trustees themselves. Also
present were Bollywood personalities,
Longines Fernandez and Feroz Khan.

But the night really belonged to the bevy
of beautiful models including, Parizad
Kolah Marshall, Dilkhush Reporter, Alyssa
Chesson, Scherazade Shroff, Maia Sethna,
Parinaz Jal and Sharlene Chichgar, who
wowed the guests with their stunning
looks and charm.
The calendar is an effort on the part of
ZYNG to showcase the youth in a positive
light, while still maintaining the connection
to our traditional calendar and helping the
youth learn and remember the significance
behind each roj and festival.

The Great Gahambar!
Z
YNG celebrated their first
anniversary at Rustom Baug on
December 11, 2010. A crowd of 1,800
people graced the event. The evening
began with a jashan and proceeded with
an evening of entertainment with
dances and skits. A sumptuous meal was
served and 1,000 free passes were given
to poor and underprivileged Parsis.
On this evening, ZYNG also
launched their new children’s line of
T-shirts, ‘Born to be ZYNG!’ After just
1 year, ZYNG has grown to 3,000
members, and looks forward to serving
the community in the future. Thank you
all for your support.
