The award-winning patented design of the KickPort®
results in superior tone, depth, and precision that
you can feel! This results in less need for stuffing
your bass drum and more ability to choose your
heads and microphones for the tone of your kit.
For The Drummer & The Audience:
• Playing with a KickPort® is a difference you can FEEL & hear in
the audience, as well as on recordings.
• PLUS, it’s a difference you feel BEHIND the drums. Play without
one; then, with your KickPort. Can you feel it?
For Best Results:
• Start with a new, uncut resonant bass drum head or precut head
with hole sized 5” - 5.25” of 7.5ml or thicker
Note: For 7.5ml, use a T-Ring™ for both the interior and exterior of resonant head
for best results.
• Apply the T-Ring™ template/reinforcement ring to the exterior of
the head
• Install the KickPort according to the instructions on the product
packaging
• Be certain that the rubber collar is completely “popped” into
place against the interior of the resonant head to secure the
KickPort
Tips & Tricks:
• Use a sharp X-acto® or Leatherman® straight edge cutting tool
when installing on a new, uncut head
• Install when the head is already mounted and tuned on the bass
drum
• Microphones should be placed outside or flush to the edge of
the KickPort to properly capture the full range of the output adjust proximity & gain structure to personal preferences
• KickPort works with all brands of bass drum microphones and
also a Yamaha SubKick™ (or similar device); however, do not
obstruct the air flow convection through the KickPort.
