PHUKET RESORT

Bounded on one side by a private strip of
Layan Beach and on the other by lush
tropical fora, this Anantara resort has just
unveiled 15 new residences with three to
seven bedrooms – ideal for families or groups
looking for more than a room for their next
island break. The resort is on Phuket’s scenic
western coast, which means Andaman Sea
views. Each residence is spread over two
foors and has a rooftop deck, a 21-metre
infnity-edge pool and a butler. Of course,
if you’re only after a room or a villa, there
are plenty of options, starting with the
Premier Room, which has foor-to-ceiling

THE ST REGIS DUBAI

Everything is larger than life in the UAE’s
most populous emirate, from the Burj Khalifa
– the world’s tallest building – to Dubai’s
mega-malls. When a hotel opens in this city,
it’s expected to pack some serious punch.
With 234 rooms, eight on-site eateries, two
rooftop swimming pools and a helipad, the
new St Regis is a heavy hitter. The hotel is
part of the Al Habtoor City development,
which comprises three fve-star hotels,
residential towers, boutiques, cafés and
restaurants, as well as a marina promenade
and tennis academy. Make an appointment
at the hotel’s Iridium Spa for a 90-minute
Detoxifying Sea Wrap then continue the
indulgence with an apéritif at the St Regis
Bar, with its plush leather and wooden
décor. For dinner, the Brasserie Quartier
ofers a contemporary take on classic French
dishes. Oh, you’re here to sleep, too? Retire
to a Grand Deluxe Room with silk drapes,
velvet bedheads, walk-in closets and Remède
amenities in the bathroom.
