Welcome to aura, much more than your average beauty salon. Since
we first opened the smaller salon next door in 2002 we have come a
long way, and can confidently boast the widest range of treatments
and services for miles around.

Since winning ‘business of the year’ in 2003 we have continued to evolve,
improving our range of treatments and adding state of the art equipment
such as the recent launch of ‘Ellipse IPL’ for permanent hair reduction and
skin treatment. This is further supported by our move next door into this
larger building enabling us to cater for more of our 3,000 strong customer
database. This new purpose built salon boasts the addition of a designated
pedicure section and ‘state of the art’ spray tanning facilities in addition to
extra treatment rooms all containing adjustable ‘mood lighting’ and private
shower facilities.

Led by the proprietor Emma Hargreaves, Auras team of therapists are
professionally trained to the highest standards in the industry, across a
range of high quality brands including, Elemis, Nimue, caci, Ellipse,
ultratone and many more. Auras services extend to cosmetic and aesthetic
services and the business is now beginning to head more in the direction
of a skin clinic with the addition of new procedures such as, Derma rolling
collagen induction therapy, Advanced cosmetic procedures, for the removal
of unwanted skin blemishes including, warts, Skin tags thread veins etc,
and Ellipse IPL permanent hair reduction and skin treatments.
New for 2014 the arrival of nappage with messo therapy which encourages the
natural stimulation of collagen and elastin fibres to improve the appearance
of fine lines, wrinkles and scarring. 2014 will see the launch of our makeup artists’
Fae and Katie put into action their newly trained skills in offering photo finish
makeovers. Also available ‘wrinkle and fine line reduction’ in the form of Botox
performed by qualified nurse practitioners. With additional ‘Teeth whitening’
(‘beyond white spa’) and complimentary SPA facilities such as steam room and
infa-red sauna we aim to provide an experience normally associated with high

Restylane was launched in the UK in
1996. Made and distributed by Qmed
is one of the most popular dermal
fillers used in the UK and worldwide.
The company stated that since 1996,
more than 1,500,000 treatments have
been successfully carried out all over
the world.
Restylane is made from a cross linked
hyaluronic acid similar to the body’s
own natural collagen. It is non-animal
in origin and does not require a patch
test. The hyaluronic acid is eventually
broken down over the months leaving
no trace of the filler.
The gel is injected into the skin with
a very fine needle; it plumps out the
skin, filling lines, and deeper folds
where skin has lost its elasticityand

Skin needling systems are used for a
treatment process called micro
needling or skin needling.
It is a form of collagen induction
therapy (CIT), reducing the
appearance of fine lines & wrinkles,
pore size and pigmentation whilst
lifting and toning the skin.
Skin needling systems do not
damage the skin or remove the
epidermis layer.
Skin needling with a skin roller
produces hundreds of tiny dermal
injuries. Each dermal injury triggers
the normal healing response within
the skin and successive treatments
build new collagen.
In addition to stimulating collagen
growth, micro needling also creates
channels through which any
substance applied to the skins
surface can be absorbed far more
easily.
The skin needling treatment comes

How it works When a bright beam of
light enters your skin, certain natural
pigments in your body absorb the light.
One of these pigments is melanin,
which is found in the skin and in hair.
Another pigment – haemoglobin – is
found in blood. The third substance in
the skin that absorbs light is water.
When the pigment absorbs the light it
converts it into heat. Melanin,
haemoglobin and water are selective
in the light they absorb. They absorb a
certain band of wavelengths called the
absorption spectrum. Ellipse uses light
carefully controlled and filtered from
this spectrum to target the pigment
that is causing your problem. For
brown marks on the skin, the target
is melanin. For the treatment of acne,
the target is haemoglobin. For treatment
of sun damaged skin, both melanin and
haemoglobin may be targeted.

the hair follicle from which individual hairs grow. Well controlled pulses of light
penetrate the upper skin layer and are absorbed by one of the body’s own
natural chemicals - melanin - in the hair contained in the follicle.

Melanin converts the light energy into heat. This heat is transferred to the
hair follicle, which is destroyed, making it unable to produce a new hair.
The treatment is only effective on growing hairs as these are still attached to
the follicle. The majority of our hair is in the resting phase which explains
why more than one treatment is necessary. This technique is called
“Selective Photothermolysis”.
