Welcome to Autumn at Trinity!

And so we kick-off our 30th anniversary year with an Autumn season
jam-packed with 100 events and films culminating in our 2012
Christmas show Peter Pan! To think Trinity Theatre exists purely due
to the hard work and determination of a small group of volunteers
3 decades ago, who saved the building from inevitable demolition
and created a community arts venue with a yearly programme of 22
shows. Since then we’ve gone from strength to strength, with 2100
hours of volunteer support and a programme of 437 events in the
past year, plus a completely new digital cinema and sound system.

ends! – in this brash new world that is Melbourne in 1855.
Visits from the bailiffs, rent arrears and his daughter Emma’s betrothal to his landlord’s son, already
complicate Micawber’s life, but when his son, Wilkins, introduces a young man with an ambiguous past,
who also has designs on Emma, it becomes even more tangled. Micawber turns detective, but will the
mystery he uncovers threaten even his optimism and integrity?

Leda Hodgson returns to Trinity with another performance from Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads series.
This will be her third performance of one of these famous plays, having previously presented A
Bed Among The Lentils and A Lady Of Letters. A Woman Of No Importance is a witty and poignant
monologue, distinguished by Alan Bennett’s characteristically simple yet incisive eye for detail and
sensitivity to character. Struck down by sudden illness, Peggy Schofield is an ordinary woman, with an
ordinary life and an ordinary job - but she is far from unimportant.
This production is in aid of Trinity and all box office receipts will be donated to the theatre.

Theatre in 1993, and the New York Drama Critics’
Circle Award in 1995. After its Broadway debut,
Vincent Canby wrote in the New York Times, “There’s
no doubt about it. Arcadia is Tom Stoppard’s richest,
most ravishing comedy to date, a play of wit, intellect,
language, brio, and, new for him, emotion.” Many critics regard Arcadia as Tom Stoppard’s finest play.
Arcadia is certainly a play of ideas, but it is also a
poignant love story. As the action shifts between
the present and the early 19th Century, the play addresses major questions of art and science, and how
they intersect.

second year in aid of local disability charity Compaid. Performers include Women in Harmony, Nicola
Bolsover, the Tragic Mushrooms, and young finalists from the Compaid’s Got Talent open auditions. The
evening will be compered by BBC Radio Kent presenter, Pat Marsh.

Grammy award-winning John Williams has dazzled audiences with his masterful performances of

As founding member of British fusion band Soft Machine, John Etheridge emerged from the Canterbury
scene over 35 years ago. He has become a world-renowned passionate musician having played with

The Floyd Effect

Spanning four decades of material, eight top-quality musicians and singers faithfully recreate the
music and emotions of a Pink Floyd concert without recourse to backing tracks, computers or other
technological wizardry. Every note that you hear is played and sung by the band, making each concert
a genuine ‘live’ musical experience, all of which is ably supported by a dramatic light show that
incorporates the iconic circular screen, two sets of projectors, smoke and lasers.
So let The Floyd Effect take you on a true musical journey from the Dark Side of the Moon, through
Wish You Were Here and Animals, to The Wall, and all the way to the Division Bell. Unless you were
there the first time round, the music of Pink Floyd was never as real as this.

14th October 3.00 pm : Tony Palmer introduces "Menuhin - A Family Portrait"
Celebrated film and opera director, Tony Palmer, will make a
personal appearance to introduce one of his most deeply moving
films: Menuhin - A Family Portrait. This intimate film explores
the life of a truly Olympian musician, Yehudi Menuhin, whose
kindly style and legendary musicianship concealed family
challenges that affected him and his immensely talented
sisters. Tony Palmer’s hauntingly touching film will be
followed by a discussion with TP.

101 Dalmations | Summer Production
This is a unique opportunity for children aged 8-15 to rehearse, produce
and perform a live production on the stage at Trinity Theatre. We’ll be
rehearsing between Monday 20th and Friday 24th August to produce a
45 minute musical adaptation of the children’s classic 101 Dalmatians.
The final production will be presented at a Gala performance on Saturday
25th August. Each child will be introduced to performing, costume design,
theatrical make-up, singing and dancing during their rehearsal periods.

Zombie Day
Halloween is creeping up and at Trinity Theatre we’re inviting little
nippers to take a bite out of something new: Zombie Day! For children
aged 8 – 16years, Zombie Day sets about preparing something very
special for presentation this Halloween. Throughout the day children can
take part in an introduction to theatre and film-making in a most horrible
fashion! With gruesome make-up, ghastly costuming and monstrous
movement classes these little darlings are about to turn into green
ghouls about town. The day’s activity will culminate in the filming or a
flashmob movie to be shown on Trinity Theatre’s own cinema screen.
