time, they gave themselves more time to work with atmosphere and arrangement in the studio.
Just like on earlier releases, all the basics are recorded live with the whole band in the same
room to capture the right feeling. GUDARS SKYMNING this time delivers an album with a
dystopian undertone, but they manage to keep their two trademarks - groovy, heavy riffs and
lyrics in Swedish!

album as a whole is a sonic rollercoaster for the senses. This is the kind of album that both
commands and demands your attention. BAD ACID has joined the ranks of bands such as
SPIDERS, KATLA and BLUES PILLS in that they have easily created one of my all-time favorite
listening experiences. Just put those headphones on, take a load off, and let BAD ACID carry
you off to wherever it is they‘re taking you. I guarantee that you‘ll want another ride.

his friend and fellow saxophonist John Coltrane. That in itself is quite a thought to consider when listening
to Golson‘s first recording for HighNote Records. Even more thought provoking, though, is the fact that
without Benny Golson‘s gifts as a composer, hard-bop‘s catalog of charming straight-ahead standards
would be missing many of its iconic tunes. Then, as if these accomplishments were not enough, it
should be mentioned that Golson‘s beautifully paced, golden toned playing, has appeared on more than
five hundred recordings. Surrounded here by his current colleagues of choice, Golson, plays standards
and originals with a hipness characterized by his attractive, sinewy melodic statements. He shines on
both ballads, where his big, warm tone and heavy vibrato stand him in good stead, and the uptempo
numbers such as “Jump Start,“ where his improvisations are full of power and substance.

supergroup, which has honed its rapport on tour in Europe, consists of the trumpeter Jeremy Pelt,

drummer Bill Stewart. The band cooks up a swinging brew of mostly original tunes with a decidedly
post-hard-bop influence. Throughout the session the band delivered high energy, immaculate, yet
often daring variations on the contemporary but ‚feel good‘ compositions of Messrs Pelt, Grissett
and Stewart.
