There are those who conform to what they have accomplished and others who prefer to take risks and set new goals and
standards. Jorge Drexel is without a doubt the latter. His new album “Amar La Trama” (Love the plot) focuses on the plot of

end - he decided to rearrange how he recorded this album and made it in a peculiar way: he transformed a TV studio into
a recording studio and for 4 days recorded his songs LIVE with an array of musicians in front of an audience. This way he
worked without the pressure of the typical LIVE album and the coldness of a recording studio and also maintained the
freshness of a LIVE band. In contrast with his prior albums there are no electronic instruments involved. This album is
completely organic, with real instruments.
“Amar La Trama” sounds different, with the special and sincere warmth of elegant songs, with which Drexel keeps on
demonstrating that he is the master in creating unforgettable melodies that come with a mix of urban rhythms and sounds
from his native Uruguay, but without abandoning the concept of the songs and forgetting his music is popular music. This

Jorge Drexel reached world recognition when he won an Oscar for composing the song “Al Otro Lado Del Rio’. His songs
have been recorded by top artists like Ana Torroja, David Broza, Rosario, Jovanotti, Maria Rita, Paulinho Mosca, Jaime
Roos, Adriana varela, Amara Portuondo and Bajofondo Tango Club. Half way through 1989 he started composing songs
and in 1992 he recorded his first album “La Luz Que Sabe Robar”. That same year he graduated in Medicine at La
Universidad De La Republica Oriental De Uruguay.
Different awards, numerous concerts and his second album “Radar” (1994) closed the first stage of his career before
moving to Spain from Argentina and Uruguay where he recorded his third album “Vaiven” (1993), with collaborations from
Joaquin Sabina, Luis Eduardo Aute and Javier Alvarez. In 1995 he recorded “Llueve”, “Frontera” in 1999 and “Sea” in
2001, which was nominated among others to the Latin Grammys, MTV Latin Awards and Los Premios Gardel in Argentina.
It was in 2005 when Drexel became popular by winning the Oscar for “Al otro Lado Del Rio”, which featured in the movie
“Motorcycle Diaries”. This was the first Spanish song ever to win this award.
In 2007 he was awarded “Premio de la Musica” for best album for “Doce Segundos de Oscuridad”, which was also
nominated for a Latin Grammy and a Grammy. In 2008 his 9th album “Cara B” was released; recorded live during a 7 day
tour around Spain and included Director Manuel Huerga who was a part of this project as director filming a documentary,

which was not a retransmission of the concert but a feature film that aired on TV winning several awards like the Biznaga
De Plata Del Pubbllico at the Festival de Cine De Malaga ( Malaga’s Film Festival). Several of his songs have been used
for ads and included in different movies like “No Sos Vos , “Soy Yo”, “Retrato De Mujer Con Hombre Al Fondo”, “Las
Razones De Mis Amigos”, “Antigua Vida Mia”, “Spoils Of War”, “Candida”, and “El Nido Vacio”.
Jorge finished the soundtrack for the next James Ivory film “The City Of Your Final destination”, With lead actors Anthony
Hopkins and Omar Metwally. It was released worldwide at the IV Film Festival of Rome and it will be release in other
territories shortly. Most recently he is releasing his next album “Amar la trama”.

Eight years ago, pianist-composer Brad Mehldau and Los Angeles-based producer Jon Brion (Dido, Kanye West, Fiona
Apple, Rufus Wainwright) collaborated on the groundbreaking Largo album. They mixed Mehldau originals with radically
reinterpreted versions of pieces by Radiohead, the Beatles and Nick Drake and brought a range of new instrumentation to
Mehldau's sound, including horns, strings, vibes and electronics. It was a provocative pairing: the young master of acoustic
jazz and the subversive pop impresario with a Brian Wilson-sized imagination; Largo arguably set a new standard for the
very idea of standards. The Boston Globe called it "gorgeous and brilliant... Mehldau has crafted a new-jazz soundscape
that bursts with pop smarts."
Highway Rider reunites Mehldau with Brion in an even more ambitious setting, with a broader instrumental palette. This
two-disc, 15-track song cycle was written, orchestrated, and arranged by Mehldau and features his long-time rhythm
section of drummer Jeff Ballard and bassist Larry Grenadier, along with old friends drummer Matt Chamberlain and
saxophonist Joshua Redman as well as a chamber orchestra conducted by Dan Coleman. Highway Rider reflects
Mehldau's recent experience writing long-form pieces, including the Carnegie Hall-commissioned Love Songs for
mezzo---soprano Anne Sofie von Otter.
"I knew from working with Jon on Largo that he was the guy who would find a way to put all the pieces together for this
project. It was really quite a beast sonically at some points-two drummers playing at the same time, bass, sax, and piano,
and then the orchestra on top of that. I wanted to record everything live whenever possible but wasn't sure if we could do
it. Jon had the foresight during the recording, and then a great deal of craft during the mixing, to bring it all together and
sound like it does. And we were able to avoid what the conductor Dan Coleman jokingly referred to as ‘disco strings'- that
is, adding the orchestra onto the jazz group's performance after the fact."
Mehldau does leave ample space for improvisation, though, eliciting some particularly exciting performances from Redman
on tenor sax as he solos with the entire orchestra behind him.
Highway Rider is often breathtaking in its sweep, contrasting the intimacy of Mehldau's contemplative solo work with
large-scale, purely orchestral pieces like "Now You Must Climb Alone" and "Always Departing." There's gravitas in this
work, but also subtle humor and playfulness, especially on the flamenco-accented "The Falcon Will Fly Again," which
features a clapping circle and children's voices. Mehldau and Brion have a unique chemistry as artist and producer. The
rigor of Mehldau's writing is matched by its musical and emotional immediacy; the atmosphere of these sessions, held in
February and May of 2009 at Ocean Way studio in Los Angeles, is as exhilarating for the listener as for all the musicians
evolved. As Mehldau puts it, "It's so exciting to write something and have it in your head and then hear if for the first time
being played by these magnificent players. It's really an emotional experience. I'm still reeling from it."

Jazz pianist Brad Mehldau has recorded and performed extensively since the early 1990s. Mehldau's most consistent
output over the years has taken place in the trio format. Starting in 1996, his group released a series of five records on
Warner Bros. entitled The Art of the Trio. Mehldau also has a solo piano recording entitled Elegiac Cycle, and a record
called Places that includes both solo piano and trio songs. Elegiac Cycle and Places might be called "concept" albums.
They are made up exclusively of original material and have central themes that hover over the compositions. Other
Mehldau recordings include Largo, a collaborative effort with the innovative musician and producer Jon Brion, and
Anything Goes-a trio outing with bassist Larry Grenadier and drummer Jorge Rossy.His first record for Nonesuch, Brad
Mehldau Live in Tokyo, was released in 2004. After ten rewarding years with Rossy playing in Mehldau's regular trio,
drummer Jeff Ballard joined the band in 2005. The label releasesd its first album from the Brad Mehldau Trio-Day is Done
-in 2005.
Mehldau's musical personality forms a dichotomy. He is first and foremost an improviser, and greatly cherishes the
surprise and wonder that can occur from a spontaneous musical idea that is expressed directly, in real time. But he also
has a deep fascination for the formal architecture of music, and it informs everything he plays. In his most inspired playing,
the actual structure of his musical thought serves as an expressive device. As he plays, he listens to how ideas unwind,
and the order in which they reveal themselves. Each tune has a strongly felt narrative arch, whether it expresses itself in a
beginning, an end, or something left intentionally open-ended. The two sides of Mehldau's personality-the improviser and
the formalist-play off each other, and the effect is often something like controlled chaos.
Mehldau has performed around the world at a steady pace since the mid-1990s, with his trio and as a solo pianist. His
performances convey a wide range of expression. There is often an intellectual rigor to the continuous process of
abstraction that may take place on a given tune, and a certain density of information. That could be followed by a stripped
down, emotionally direct ballad. Mehldau favors juxtaposing extremes. He has attracted a sizeable following over the
years, one that has grown to expect a singular, intense experience in his performance.
In addition to his trio and solo projects, Mehldau has worked with a number of great jazz musicians, including a rewarding
gig with saxophonist Joshua Redman's band for two years, recording and concerts with Charlie Haden and Lee Konitz,
and recording as a sideman with the likes of Wayne Shorter, John Scofield, and Charles Lloyd. For more than a decade,
he has collaborated with several musicians and peers whom he respects greatly, including the guitarists Peter Bernstein
and Kurt Rosenwinkel and tenor saxophonist Mark Turner. Mehldau also has played on a number of recordings outside of
the jazz idiom, like Willie Nelson's Teatro and singer-songwriter Joe Henry's Scar. His music has appeared in several
movies, including Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut and Wim Wender's Million Dollar Hotel. He also composed an original
soundtrack for the French film, Ma Femme Est Une Actrice. Mehldau also composed two new works commissioned by
Carnegie Hall for voice and piano, The Blue Estuaries and The Book of Hours: Love Poems to God, which were performed
in the spring of 2005 with the acclaimed classical soprano, Renee Fleming. These songs were recorded with Fleming and
released in 2006 on the Love Sublime record; simultaneously, Nonesuch released an album of Mehldau's jazz
compositions for trio entitled House on Hill.

Description: In the summer of 2007, shortly after the release of their 6th album Icky Thump, The White Stripes headed
north of their hometown of Detroit to embark on an ambitious journey across Canada. The plan was to play a show in
every province and territory in Canada, from B.C. to Newfoundland to Nunavut. "Having never done a tour of Canada, Meg
and I thought it was high time to go whole hog...from the ocean to the permafrost" says Jack White. "We wanted to play
out of the way towns that don't usually get shows...the shows are better, it's better for the people, it's a better experience,
it's way more unique, something interesting is going to happen...hopefully."
White called upon filmmaker Emmett Malloy to come and document this trek for the band. Malloy had directed videos for
the band in the past, and seemed eager to hit the road with them. Equipped with a couple of 16mm cameras, and a few
other documenting devices, the band and crew all headed north. The end result was Under Great White Northern Lights.
Under Great White Northern Lights is a visual and emotional feature length film documenting The White Stripes making
their way through Canada and culminating with their 10th anniversary show in Nova Scotia. The film documents the band
playing shows all over Canada; from local bowling alleys, to city buses, and onward to the legendary Savoy Theater for the
10th Anniversary show. A show that turned out to be the longest show the band had ever done on stage together.
The film captures intimate moments of Jack and Meg both on and off stage as they travel through some of the most
remote parts of the northern Yukon Territory. Along the way, they have some nice casual conversations about their ten
years together, fire cannons, play some of their biggest songs together on stage, and even play a "one note show." The
cameras were there to capture every waking moment.
What Northern Lights does best, is document one of the biggest bands in the world, playing to local crowds in small
towns. Some of these towns were so small that many of the locals had no idea who The White Stripes were - they just
knew something big was going on in their town. This forced a band that had been together for a decade to go back to a
place reminiscent of the first shows they ever played together. For the first time in a long time, no one knew who they were
and they had to make a first impression with their music. The live footage captured in this film shows that Jack and Meg
were clearly ready for this.
Beyond the live footage, some of the films most memorable moments happen off-stage - offering an insightful look into the
very private and complex world that is The White Stripes. It was shortly after this tour that The White Stripes cancelled
their fall tour of the United States - making the ten year anniversary a truly pivotal milestone for this legendary band.

own stories. Each of Arjona’s albums posses its own life, it’s a different place in an episode of each of its characters and
it’s also a place from where he shares with us new confessions, affections and reflections.
Guatemalan born, the life of Ricardo Arjona has been filled with an array of flavors, colors and smells; at age six, with a
guitar on hand, was already playing at family gatherings. Nevertheless, his talent was put on hold to teach at rural schools
and even participate on Guatemala’s national basketball team. Nonetheless, no one was able to stray him away from his
passion for music. Convinced that music would be his vocation for life, he decided to move to Mexico City in search of an
opportunity in the country’s flourishing industry. After several student contests aided him in finally landing a great
opportunity at Polygram.
Today he continues giving us those lyrics that engulf his stories, taking his music to hundreds of countries and thousands
of people. Arjona has spoken about love, the North and South, women and even approaching subjects of current social
relevance. Arjona has stepped with simplicity and musical quality in some of the most important venues in Latin-America
and United States; in addition he is a deserving recipient of some of the most important recognitions in Latin music history.

BIG GATES AND PLIES POWER OF VISIONS FOUNDATION, INC.
Big Gates & Plies Power of Visions Inc is a registered non-profit foundation established in 2008 by Ronell "Big Gates"
Levatte and his brother national recording artist Plies. The foundations main objective is to support the educational
endeavors and life skills of the disenfranchised youth throughout their primary educational experience, specifically first
graders up to high school. The foundation also provides those who have been and continue to be affected by the negative
impacts of the prison system with preventative governance and societal transitioning support through fundamental
assistance and legal aid.
In addition, Big Gates and Plies Power of Visions focus on promoting activities for the youth and disenfranchised by
providing educational forums, classes, workshops, trainings, mentorship, cultural experiences and other charitable
activities with the goal of promoting a more functional, productive and just community. According to a published senate
report in September of 2000, 70 percent of children of incarcerated parents will become involved with the criminal justice
system unless effective intervention strategies are set in place.

Big Gates & Plies Power of Visions Inc is a registered non-profit foundation established in 2008 by Ronell "Big Gates"
Levatte and his brother national recording artist Plies. The foundations main objective is to support the educational
endeavors and life skills of the disenfranchised youth throughout their primary educational experience, specifically first
graders up to high school. The foundation also provides those who have been and continue to be affected by the negative
impacts of the prison system with preventative governance and societal transitioning support through fundamental
assistance and legal aid.
In addition, Big Gates and Plies Power of Visions focus on promoting activities for the youth and disenfranchised by
providing educational forums, classes, workshops, trainings, mentorship, cultural experiences and other charitable
activities with the goal of promoting a more functional, productive and just community. According to a published senate
report in September of 2000, 70 percent of children of incarcerated parents will become involved with the criminal justice
system unless effective intervention strategies are set in place.
The preventative measures implemented by Big Gates and Plies Power of Visions are strategically aimed at combating
incarceration, encouraging educational greatness, economic empowermentand assisting the youth in defining their Power
