Inclusion Process
The Springfield Park District understands that not every person
with a disability needs to participate in L.E.A.P. programs. If you
feel any programs offered outside of L.E.A.P. through the
Springfield Park District would better meet the needs of your
child, follow these steps for inclusion:
1. Register for the program of choice and check the box on
the registration form that states, “I need a modification
because of a disability to enjoy this programming.” At least
two weeks in advance.
2. Contact Annette Reese at (217) 585-2941 or
[email protected].
3. Through meeting(s), observation, etc., it will be determined
if inclusion in a chosen program would be appropriate and
beneficial, and if an inclusion aide is needed.
4. For any inclusion needs that cannot be met, the park district will issue a full refund.
Please understand we will do our very best to provide an
inclusion aide. However, due to staffing restrictions,
we are unable to guarantee an aide.
Friday, June 5 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
Friday, July 3 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
Friday, August 7 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

Parks Grow
The Springfield Parks Foundation was formed
in 1991 as a not-for-profit volunteer
organization. The foundation’s mission is to
enhance the use, growth and preservation of
our parks.
With the addition of Southwind Park, the
Springfield Park District includes nearly 40
neighborhood, recreational and regional
parks. The Foundation works closely with the
Springfield Park District, city, state and local
agencies, individuals and the business
community to provide support and funding
for a variety of park projects including
restoration, environment and landscape
improvements, recreation and entertainment
opportunities and commemoration.
If you want to find out how you can
become involved with the work of the
foundation, please visit
www.springfieldparksfoundation.org.
We will see you in the parks!
Community Partners
Financial
Assistance
Program
No child should be denied access to
learning an important ability, such
as swimming, or developing skills
for a lifetime of enjoyment, due to
their inability to pay. If you have
financial needs and live within the
Springfield Park District boundaries
we may be able to help.
To determine if you are eligible for
financial assistance, all you need to
do is complete a "scholarship application form" (available at all Park
District facilities or online at
www.springfieldparks.org) and
mail or drop it off at the following
address:
Springfield Park District
Attn: Scholarship Opportunities
2500 South Eleventh
Springfield, IL 62703
Note: Daily admission, private lessons and season passes are NOT
available through this program.
The Springfield Park District recognizes other organizations and service providers in our community. While we provide services directly
and do what we do "best," we support the efforts of these recreation and leisure providing partners, and work collaboratively so
that we don't compete. We let them do what they do "best." Please check out our partners and the services they provide:
