It serves as a long term source of financial assistance in physical rehabilitation, social adaptation for athletes and people with physical and sensory impairments, and promotes equal opportunities for all members of the modern community. PARASPORT works in close partnership with the national Paralympic organizations. The PARASPORT foundation invites founding contributors to join us in our work. We are open to partnerships and cooperation to support the right of disabled people to full participation, equality, and development through the world of sports. Mission The foundation, both in its role as a founding sponsor of the Paralympic Movement and through a variety of other fundraising initiatives: • supports paralympic athletes in their participation in sports and social activities • provides financial support directly to promising athletes • stimulates public policy discussion and promotes sports among disabled individuals and groups • helps to enact measures to advance the state of paralympic sports. Activities and Sponsorship Programmes PARASPORT strives to provide sufficient funding and charitable programs to paralympic athletes through active cooperation with the National Paralympic Committees. Today the foundation works to develop charitable programs in three major fields. The foundation also helps to create new jobs for disabled sportsmen. This aid is provided mostly upon request and recommendation from the National Paralympic Committees and other paralympic institutions. Since 2015 PARASPORT Foundation Vietnam has provided financial assistance to Vietnamese Paralympic athletes nationwide. PARASPORT provides financing support for the Russian Paralympic Team since its launch. The foundation granted financial aid for Russian team`s participation in the XI Winter Paralympics in Sochi, Russia, in 2014, the London 2012 Paralympic Games, the X Winter Paralympics 2010 in Vancouver, Canada, the Beijing Summer Paralympic Games in 2008, and the IX Winter Paralympics in Turin, Italy. In 2010 the foundation establishes special grants for Russian athletes – participants of the Vancouver Winter Paralympics of 2010. The money is distributed among those sportsmen who did not receive Paralympic medals but were among the top ten finalists in the Paralympics competitions. Novogorsk Training Center. The foundation provided financial and organizational support to the Ukrainian Paralympic Team in arranging its training and participation in the Beijing Summer Paralympic Games in September 2008. The Paralympic Sports Support Foundation PARASPORT 9 Activities and Sponsorship Programmes Paralympic Movement Development The foundation is deeply committed to issues and events pertaining to athletes with disabilities throughout the world. The assistance is realized by financing and arranging official events and educational programs to strengthen cooperation between Paralympic institutions, Russian and international Paralympic organizations, athletes, and society at large. PARASPORT works in Asia-Pacific through its Vietnam branch - Parasport Foundation Vietnam, opened in February 2015. PARASPORT is the general partner of the IWAS World Games, which are held on 26 September-3 October 2015 in Sochi. The IWAS World Games brings together over 800 participants from 35 countries. Competitions are held in six sports – athletics, swimming, table tennis, archery, taekwondo, and armrestling. WORLD GAMES PARASPORT makes a large contribution to support the Vietnamese National ParaGames in August 2015. Nationwide games with more than 1000 participants, including athletes, coaches, audience and guests are held in the Sports Center of Dong Nai, Vietnam. In May 2015 PARASPORT convened the official visit The President of the IPC Sir Phillip Craven and the Founder of the PARASPORT Oleg Boyko. of Vietnam Paralympic Association headed by its President Pham Van Tuan to Russia. At the meetings the Governing Boards of Russian Paralympic Committee, Association and Vietnam Paralympic PARASPORT discussed issues of mutual cooperation for the development of the Paralympic Movement, exchange of experience on the organization of training activities of national teams of Russia and Vietnam. The sides signed tripartite Memorandum of RussianVietnamese cooperation enlargement for Paralympic sport development. An official meeting between the Governing Boards of Russian Paralympic Committee, Vietnam Paralympic Association and PARASPORT Foundation The Paralympic Sports Support Foundation PARASPORT 11 The Paralympic Sports Support Foundation PARASPORT 13 Activities and Sponsorship Programmes In April 2015 PARASPORT Foundation Vietnam organized a Wheelchair Granting in Tien Giang for disabled students who has good achievement in their life. Moreover, they also had a chance to meet and share with famous Paralympic athletes of Viet Nam about overcoming the difficulties. This is believed to be a very fruitful inspiration of encouraging new generation of para sport’s industry. PARASPORT co-organized the meeting of Sir Phillip Craven, President of the International Paralympic Committee, with the heads and representatives of the National Paralympic Committees of the CIS countries, Eastern Europe and the Baltic states. The session took place at the Novogorsk Training Center, Moscow region, in November 2013. The issues of paralympic movement development worldwide, cooperation and the strengthening of cooperation between the IPC and National Paralympic Committees were discussed. The first visit of Sir Phillip Craven to Moscow was arranged by PARASPORT foundation in 2007. PAPASPORT sponsors and organizes IX General Assembly meeting of the European Paralympic Committee in Moscow, Russia, on the 23rd and 24th of September 2011. The Paralympic Sports Support Foundation PARASPORT 15 Activities and Sponsorship Programmes Awards Ceremonies PARASPORT sponsors award ceremonies for outstanding achievements in paralympic sports in order to promote paralympic activities among government, institutions, the media, and the general public and to increase the public’s awareness and engagement in the Paralympic Movement. Valentina Matviyenko Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation “Back to Life” ceremony, 2014 Since 2007 the foundation has sponsored and organized national award ceremony “Back to Life”. The awards are given in 10 categories to outstanding athletes, coaches, and physicians of the National Paralympic Team, who achieve successful results at the Winter and Summer Paralympic Games, and other international competitions. The event serves as a meeting point for representatives of fifteen National Paralympic Committees, the Games organizers, and the International Paralympic Committee. Activities and Sponsorship Programmes Special Events PARASPORT gives financial and organizational assistance to unique events and projects intended to make a breakthrough in the minds of society and break stereotypes, to change public opinion about people with disabilities. In support of XI Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi PARASPORT organizes a reception in honor of the Russian champions and medalists. During the ХI Paralympic Winter Games in 2014 PARASPORT foundation sponsors Russian talk show “Heroes of Our Time”. The objective of the program is to provide good and positive examples of helping people find themselves, and to promote qualities like determination, optimism, and willpower, which can help to bring about success no matter the hardships faced. The show was launched on Russia’s leading business channel RBC TV. In December 2014 Parasport Foundation participates in the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Sports House – first ever in the history of Russian Paralympic Movement. The Award Ceremony «Back to Life» takes place in the new Russian Paralympic Committee headquarters as part of celebrations. The Paralympic Sports Support Foundation PARASPORT 17 The Paralympic Sports Support Foundation PARASPORT 19 Activities and Sponsorship Programmes In December 2011 PARASPORT hosts a reception dedicated to the Russian Paralympic Committee’s 15th anniversary. The event gathers great Russian Paralympic champions, coaches and athletes, founders and pioneers of the Paralympic Movement in the country. Pavel Rozhkov, Vitaly Mutko, Alexey Kulakovsky Since 2011 the foundation has organized master classes for students of a boarding school for children with disabilities in Moscow. Famous Russian Paralym- Vladimir Lukin, Xavier Gonzalez pic athletes come to share their skills in wheelchair basketball, para-table tennis, wheelchair fencing, wheelchair dance, boccia and arm wrestling, and etc. In 2011 PARASPORT publishes the first children’s book about Paralympic Movement in Russia and the world, named «Paralympic Sports. Courage and overcoming». The new edition was published in 2014.
