RFE 4154
Band 5 High Capacity Line-Of-Sight (LOS) Radio
The RFE 4154 is the most suitable software defined
LOS radio relay system for medium/long range high
capacity tactical data links.
Operating in the NATO frequency bands 5, the RFE
4154 is ideal to avoid the overcrowded band 3+ and
4. It is designed to meet latest tactical communication
requirements and supports traffic on Ethernet / IP for
broad band multimedia, C4I and voice communication
applications.
ARCHITECTURE
The RFE 4154 modular architecture provides maximum
mobility and flexibility.
The radio unit with integrated antenna can be set on a
tripod or a mast on vehicles as well as in unmanned fixed
locations.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
ACCESSORIES
• Frequency band: NATO band 5 (14.6 to 15.2 GHz)
• System gain:
- 186 dB typical at 8 Mbps (for BER 10-6)
- 170 dB typical at 100 Mbps (for BER 10-6)
• RF Range: - 80km @ 8 Mbps
- 40km @ 100 Mpbs
• Optical trunk interfaces: - Ethernet 100FX
- SDH 155Mbps (on request)
A hand held terminal permits local control, monitoring and
access to the engineering order wire.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Thanks to the handy design and the integrated antenna the
RFE 4154 allows a very short setup time.
Repeater stations can be simply composed of two radios
connected via optical cables.
Sophisticated ECCM make the RFE 4154 a superior
tactical radio relay system.
To avoid an electrical generator on the radio site a remote
powering system may feed signal and power over up to
500 m hybrid cable to the radio.
Especially for unmanned stations or on high masts, a
positioner permits remote controlled antenna alignment.
