NOTE FROM THE SENIOR CLASS
In trying to develop a concept and title for our Sharp Show,
the Class of 2013 wanted a theme that clearly articulated
our presence in the department and the journey we have
been through leading us to the culmination of our time at
Southern Methodist University. Into Sight was proposed as
the focus of our show. We believe it allows us to show our
growth into what we have become as a class, as individual
artists, and as friends entering a new chapter of our lives
embracing both opportunities and challenges. We have
been trained to "see" who we are, and are presenting our
audience with the opportunity to "see" who we've become
over the past three and a half years. Through everything we
have all created an identity, and that identity is present as
we have now all come "into sight."

CHOREOGRAPHERS
CONSTANCE DOLPH ...
is a Senior Dance Major at SMU. She began her modern
training in the Dance Division of Meadow's School of the
Arts under the supervision of Myra Woodruff, Christopher
Dolder, and Anne Westwick. She has been able to perform
works such as Martha Graham's Panorama, and Primitive
Mysteries. Ms. Dolph has also had the great opportunity
to work with choreographers Max Stone, Bruce Wood,
Christopher Dolder and many others. She hopes to perform
with Martha Graham Company some day.
TENLEY DORRILL .. .
a Dallas native, began dancing at a very early age. She
attended Dance Industry Performing Arts Center in Plano
where she discovered a love for contemporary dance and
began choreographing solos for other dancers and herself.
Tenley's passion for dance continued at SMU Meadows
with some of her favorite pieces including the choreography
of Danny Buraczeski, Millicent Johnnie, Christopher
Dolder, Martha Graham, and Jamal K. White. She has
also gained inspiration from study abroad in Bali and
London and by attending dance intensi ves in San Francisco
and Tel Aviv. Tenley has choreographed pieces for four
Brown Bag shows and is very thankful for the opportunity
to work with such incredibly talented and devoted dancers
at SMU. She would like to thank the Meadows professors
and staff for their great support and encouragement. Most
of all, Tenley would like to thank her unbelievable parents.
Merde to all in the show!

CHOREOGRAPHERS
KAITL YN McDERMITT ...
was born and raised in Jackson, New Jersey where she
began her training in ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary.
In middle school she changed her artistic focus to ballet
training at the Academy of Dance Arts in Red Bank,
New Jersey where she graduated with distinction in
various Royal Academy of Dance examinations. She was
accepted into the SMU Dance Program in 2009 where
she performed and choreographed in various student
productions such as the Brown Bag Series and Best Of.
She also had the opportunity to work with artists including
Leslie Peck, Millicent Johnnie, Adam Hougland, Jessica
Lang, Max Stone, and Mel Tomlinson. Kaitlyn graduated
SMU with a BFA in Dance Performance in December
2012 and is now pursuing her career in dance. She would
like to thank her family for all of their love and support,
and her professors and dancers for all of their hard work
throughout this process.
AMANDA OWEN .. .
was raised in Athens, Texas where she began her training
in ballet. In middle and high school she began commuting
to various dance studios in Dallas in the pursuit of stronger
training. She was accepted to SMU and began attending in
the fall of 2009, where her spark for choreography was
ignited. She choreographed multiple pieces for Brown
Bag and Best Of. She also used any spare time she had
for the development of choreographic concepts, designs,
and inspirations for her future works. While at SMU she
had the opportunity to work with guest choreographers
Bruce Wood, Cheryl Chaddick, and William Soleau. She
also performed in multiple works by SMU faculty member
Danny Buraczeski. She would like to thank her family and
friends for their support in the craft to which she would
like to commit the rest of her life: choreography. She is
thankful for the opportunity to showcase her pieces
alongside her classmates in their senior show, Into Sight.
