Kodiak YoungLife - Young Life Alaska
Kodiak Young Life Winter Ski Camp Our volunteer Area Director Steve Rounsaville of Kodiak, Alaska, wrote the following about their latest event: The Kodiak Wyldlife group had a great winter camp in Anchorage over their spring break. Ten hours on the ferry, six hours on the bus from Homer to Anchorage overnight, a cold breakfast from Carrs Store, then straight to the slopes! No sleep needed for middle schoolers. No Snow? How about two feet the day before we got to the mountain! Thirty-five kids, most of whom had never been on a snowboard or skis before, had a great time Sunday learning and enjoying the slopes, in beautiful sunny weather. The next day was ultimate frisbee in the SportsDome, a little mall time to spend mom and dad's money, and h2Oasis indoor Waterpark to top it off. Each morning and evening the kids were treated to a great club led by Anchorage Area Director, Chris Van Siegman, as he talked with us about a relationship with Jesus and what that looks like. He touched a lot of hearts and made some look a little closer at themselves. They will also never forget dead manatees or snake holes in a cliff! Chris was a prime example of Christ's love and devotion to young people. We are so thankful to ChangePoint Church for hosting us and giving us a place to sleep while on the trip. We are already making plans for nest year! We love reaching kids in the small town of Kodiak, Alaska! In Christ, Brent Cunningham Alaska Regional Director
