Thank you for purchasing the Snap-on KTC Keyless Tool Control System. The information contained in these instructions is intended to serve as a guide so as to allow
the electronic lock feature to be quickly and easily put into service. The unit can be
configured to work with Heritage and Classic series of roll cabs.
INSTALLATION NOTE:
INSTALLATION NOTE: The KTC Keyless Tool Control System is designed to work with the KRL Series of tool
storage cabinets. Please refer to the following section that corresponds with the cabinet used for installation.

Section 1: Cross bar; Template is placed on center - Page 2 for Models
Uninstall Drawers:
1. Unlock the cabinet and open the top drawer
2. Using the tabs on the sliders found on either
side of the drawer, remove the top drawer.
Pull the lock slide, while simultaneously pulling the drawer, away from the cabinet.

3. Repeat for the top three drawers underneath
the existing lock.
4. PUT TOOL BOX LOCK KEY IN LOCKED
POSITION
Install Template:
1. Remove rubber top mat if applicable.
2. Place template against back edge of cabinet. If a Hardwood or Stainless Steel top
is installed back edge of template should
align with back edge of tool box top.
3. Using a tape measure, place the ‘double &
triple bank centerline’ that is shown on the
template, on the centerline of the cabinet.
Caution must be used to ensure no
drilled holes will interfere with the tool
box internal cross bar supports. 1” hole
must not be above jog in horizontal lift
bar. IF ANY INTERFERENCE IS FOUND
REPOSITION TEMPLATE. See figure 4.

4. Using 15/64 transfer punch mark all 5 holes.
5. Remove template.
6. Using 1/8” drill bit, drill through top at all 4
marked locations.
7. Using 1” Hole Saw cut through top using
predrilled “Hole A” from template.

Attach Unit:
1.
Place about 1/8cc grease onto bottom of Jhook

2. Clip J-hook around cross bar and up
through the 1” hole. PUT TOOL BOX
LOCK IN UNLOCKED POSITION

Final Setup:
1. Place 6 D batteries (not included) into battery holder found inside box.
2. If applicable, connect RJII cable and external power to back of unit.

3. Place preassembled lock box on top of cabinet and line up the 4 drilled holes with the
holes found on the bottom of the unit. Ensure that the #8-32x3” screw goes through
the hole found in the plastic “shovel”

4. Drive supplied #8x1/2 sheet metal screws
through 4 outer hole locations to secure preassembled lock box to cabinet top.
5. Place drilled plastic ball onto #8-32x3” screw
and thread one #8-32 nut on top. Do not
tighten nut.
6. While pushing back on latch mechanism
tighten #8-32 nut by hand until light pressure
is placed on the hook.

3. Use Quick Programming guide on page 7 to
program the keypad supervisor
4. By entering the supervisor PIN, or the supervisors keycard, test that the electronic
lock unlocks the cabinet drawers. Keypad
is preprogrammed with supervisor pin

5. Some adjustment of the #8-32” nut may be
necessary. When final adjustment is
found, ensure that there is no additional
strain on the hook when the latch mechanism retracts further prior to extending
(locking). When cabinet is in locked
position, there should be no tension
on the hook.
6. Tighten remaining #8-32 nut against the
top #8-32 nut.
7. Reinstall all drawers and test for proper
operation.

Uninstall Drawers:
1. Unlock the cabinet and open the top drawer
2. Using the lock tabs on the sliders found on
either side of the drawer remove the top
drawer. Pull the tab, while simultaneously
pulling the drawer away from the cabinet.

7. Using 1/8” drill bit, drill through top at all 4
marked locations.
8. Using 1” Hole Saw cut through top using
predrilled “Hole A” from template. Use caution to avoid drilling through bracket beneath.
9. Using 3/16 drill bit, drill into tab found under
previously cut hole.

10. Push #8-32x3” screw 3/16” drilled hole in
bracket as shown. Thread and tighten one
#8-32 nut against bracket and screw head.
If the Hardwood or Stainless Steel top is
in use, use the #8-32x4” screw.

3. Repeat for the top three drawers.
Install Template:
1. Remove rubber top mat if applicable.
2. Place template against back edge of cabinet.
If a Hardwood or Stainless Steel top is installed template back edge should align with
top back edge.
3. Using a tape measure, place the ‘single bank
centerline’ that is shown on the template, on
the centerline of the cabinet.

5. Remove template.

Attach Unit:
Final Setup:
1. Place preassembled lock box on top of cabinet and line up the 4 drilled holes with the
holes found on the bottom of the unit. Ensure that the #8-32x3” screw goes through
the hole found in the plastic “shovel”
1. Place 6 D batteries (not included) into battery holder found inside box.
2. If applicable, connect RJII cable and external power to back of unit.

2. Drive supplied #8x1/2 sheet metal screws
through 4 outer hole locations to secure box
to cabinet top.
3. Place drilled plastic ball onto #8-32x3” screw
and thread one #8-32 nut on top. Do not
tighten nut. If the Hardwood or Stainless
Steel top is in use, use the #8-32x4”
screw
4. While pushing back on latch mechanism
tighten #8-32 nut by hand until light pressure
is placed on the screw.
3. Use Quick Programming guide on page 7 to
program the keypad supervisor

Quick Programming Guide
1. GETTING STARTED:
a. The unit is shipped with a preprogrammed 2801 supervisor code.
b. It is recommended to use the 2801 supervisor code to create a new supervisor code, then delete the existing 2801 supervisor code. See section 3 & 4 below.
2. ADD A USER:
a. Input a valid supervisor PIN and press
or present valid supervisor card
b. Press and
hold until beeping stops
c. Input the new user PIN (4 digit min) and press
or present new card
3. ADD A SUPERVISOR:
a. Input a valid supervisor PIN and press
or present valid supervisor card
b. Press
and hold until beeping stops
c. Press
and hold again until beeping stops
d. Input new supervisor PIN (4 digit min) and press
or present NEW supervisor card
4. DELETE A USER OR SUPERVISOR:
a. Input a valid supervisor PIN and press
or present valid supervisor card
b. Press
and hold until beeping stops
c. Input the PIN to be deleted and press
or present existing card to be deleted
5. ADD A USER WITH A SPECIFIC SLOT ASSIGNMENT:
a. Input a valid supervisor PIN and press
or present valid supervisor card
b. Press
and hold until beeping stops
c. Enter slot number that will be assigned to user and press
(example: to program slot 6 type 006 )
d. Input the new user PIN (4 digit min) and press
or present NEW card
6. DELETE A USER WITH A SPECIFIC SLOT ASSIGNMENT:
a. Input a valid supervisor PIN and press
or present valid supervisor card
b. Press
and hold until beeping stops
c. Enter slot number to be cleared and press
(example: to clear slot 6 type 006 )
d. Enter slot number to be cleared again and press
(example: to clear slot 6 type 006 )
Operating the Lock
Follow the below instructions to operate the lock
PIN CREDENTIAL
If the eLock requires only a PIN credential
1. Enter a valid PIN (between 4-14 digits) and press #
CARD CREDENTIAL
If the eLock is equipped with a card reader (HID Prox or a Magstripe)
1. Present a valid card within range of the HID reader or slide the Magstripe card through the Magstripe reader
DUAL CREDENTIAL (Lock view required to create dual credential Supervisor and/or User)
If the User or Supervisor requires a dual credential
1. Enter a valid PIN or press # (for keypad credentials) or present a valid card (HID Prox or Magstripe)
2. Enter the second credential (4-14 digit Pin) or press #
NOTE: THE SECOND CREDENTIAL MUST ALWAYS BE A 4-14 DIGIT PIN

Passage Mode
To hold the lock in the open position indefinitely, there is a setting in KTC Administrative called Passage Mode (KTC
Administrative software required). Passage Mode can be assigned to a lock and/or a Supervisor/User credential.
In The KTC Administrative software, via the Lock Editor, Passage Mode can be selected so that every valid User or
Supervisor that has access rights to the lock can place it in passage mode.
In The KTC Administrative software, via the User Editor, Passage Mode can be selected. Users and Supervisors can
place any lock to which they have access right into Passage Mode. This is regardless of whether or not Passage Mode
has been activated in the lock.
To place a lock into Passage Mode:
PIN CREDENTIAL
1. Enter a valid PIN (between 4 - 14 digits) and press
2. Press
again.
CARD CREDENTIAL
If the lock is equipped with a card reader (HID Prox or Magstripe):
1. Present a valid card within range of the HID reader or slide the Magstripe card through the Magstripe reader.
2. Press
DUAL CREDENTIAL
If the User or Supervisor requires a dual credential:
1. Enter a valid PIN and press
(for keypad credentials) or present a valid card (for HID Prox or Magstripe credentials).
2. Enter the second credential (4-14 digit PIN) and press
3. Press
again.
NOTE: THE SECOND CREDENTIAL MUST ALWAYS BE A 4 - 14 DIGIT PIN
To EXIT Passage Mode (re-lock the unit/extend the eLock latch bolt):
PIN CREDENTIAL
1. Enter a valid PIN (between 4 - 14 digits)
2. Press
CARD CREDENTIAL
If the lock is equipped with a card reader (HID Prox or Magstripe):
1. Present a valid card within range of the HID reader or slide the Magstripe card through the Magstripe reader.
DUAL CREDENTIAL
If the User or Supervisor requires a dual credential:
1. Enter the primary valid PIN (for keypad credentials) and press
or present the valid card (for HID Prox or
Magstripe credentials).
