Musical “A Christmas
Carol”
Performance Riverside’s Family Series’
2004 production of “A Christmas Carol”
will feature some fresh faces both onstage
and behind the scenes….some of the
most accomplished students of Riverside
Community College’s Performing Arts
Department.
Student Choreographer Jordan Beck,
and Musical Director and 2000 RCC grad
Brady Kerr join forces with Director
Chuck Abernathy of the Performance
Riverside staff, for this revamped musical
production of the holiday classic.
Chuck says, “It’s especially gratifying to
work with Jordan. He has been a real

friend to me, and it’s been a joy to see
him develop from an ambitious teenager
just 6 years ago, to an accomplished playwright, performer and choreographer.”
Jordan, who won an Inland Theatre
League award for his performance in last
year’s production, is well known to Inland
audiences both as a performer, and as the
author of Rialto Community Player’s production of “A Tale of Two Cities.”
Jordan’s cousin and Tale of Two Cities
vet, 7-year old Gabriel May, will also be
appearing as Tiny Tim.
Chuck continues, “Brady Kerr has really knocked me out with his drive, enthusiasm, and dead-on-the-money instincts.
He came highly recommended, and I’d
been a fan of his work since he was a
student here, but I had no idea. It’s like
he knows what I want before I do, and
finds a spin to make an idea even better.”
Brady is taking out time from his busy
schedule as a session musician and composer to musically direct this show. “The
talent I found here with the performers,”
Brady says, “has far exceeded my best
expectations.”
“I’m lucky,” Chuck says with a grin.
“I’ve got friends like John Lynd, Joe Musil,

Mozart wrote his Ave Verum Corpus, late in life, as
he returned to devotional compositions. His Piano
Concerto no. 21 is among the
most technically demanding of all of Mozart’s
concerti. In fact, the composer’s own father,
Leopold Mozart, described the Concerto no. 21 as
“astonishingly difficult”. Finally, you will have the
opportunity to raise your own voice, with those of
the Chorus and accompanied by the San
Bernardino Symphony Orchestra, in a traditional
Christmas sing-along to Handel’s Messiah. This

Annie’s to have dinner with Santa, Frosty the Snowman and
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer - and, of course, Santa’s
elves. After enjoying a delicious meal from the extensive
menu, kids will be treated to a reading of Polar Express and
the Three Trees Christmas story. Plus, each child will receive a
special gift of a Christmas sleigh bell. And, of course, all will
participate in singing Christmas songs.
After dinner, the children will gather on comfortable, cozy
quilts. Apple Annie’s owners, the Wilson and Fox families,
encourage the little ones to wear their pajamas and get comfy
as they cozy up with hot chocolate and listen to the stories.
“This is for the kids and we want to help bring some
Christmas magic to their holidays. It will be lots of fun for
everyone,” Terry Fox said.
The dinner-story time will begin hourly, from 5-8pm,
Fridays and 1-7pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Weight-loss success
Holiday eating getting the better of you? The good news is, after all the indulging is over,
you can take all the pounds off with a little work. Denise Crocker, who attends Curves for
Women in Glen Avon and has been featured in past inspiration articles, gives the following
success story to spur you on:
“I have continued to lose weight for a grand total of 104 pounds and 82 inches since
joining Curves in Oct., 2003. I work out five days a week and eat lots of fruit and vegetables. My doctors told me my cholesterol and triglycerides are lower than his and he is a fit
young man. I was able to get my driver’s license back from a medical suspension and I am
now working at Curves! I am celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary and can fit in the
skirt I got married in! I have a whole new life and I owe it to Curves.”
