As we approach Valentine’s Day, also give some thought to your animal
friends. The Flower Mound Animal Adoption Center is offering
Valentine Pet Photos and all proceeds benefit the Adoption Center.
We’d also like to welcome our newest advertiser, Slimming World. If
you’ve decided that it’s the right time to lose weight and you’re looking for a
healthy, effective and budget-friendly way to do it, give Carol at Slimming

As we approach Valentine’s Day, let’s not forget
the men and women who serve our country.
Valentines can be as simple or elaborate as you’d
like. If you’d like to participate, you can make as
many or as few as you choose.
Helpful Tips:
• Do not attach any candy or treats.
• Try not to use craft materials that can break away from your
valentine. They may be shipped anywhere in the world, and
you want your cards to be as beautiful when they’re read as
when they were made.
• Tell a little about yourself (age, school, likes) but do not
include your last name, phone number or address.
• If you make more than one valentine, please do not put
individual valentines in sealed envelopes (obviously, you’ll
need one sealed envelope to mail your valentines in).
• Remember to sign your valentine with your first name only.
• Tell them why you appreciate them.
Valentines should be mailed to:
Dallas Vet Center
10501 N. Central, Suite 213
Dallas, TX 75231
Cards and letters may be mailed at any time of the year. Obviously,
if you choose to send valentines, the sooner the better.

Follow the adventures of
two Victorian street urchins
—annoyingly enthusiastic
and melodramatic—who
still await with joy the
return of their missing
father after many years. As
they gratefully and
cheerfully accept their
circumstances of foraging and freezing, Pip and
Mimsy, accompanied by friend Fimm Bimbles,
have a chance encounter with an evil and
hypnotic puppet named Begeloits who draws
the unwitting children into his nefarious plan to
kill the Queen. Coincidence and fate lead Pip
and Mimsy to Court where they are reunited
with their miserly Uncle Scrooge and where,
somehow, Pip, Mimsy, and Fimm foil the Royal
Nephew’s assassination attempt on the Queen.
The dark, melodramatic humor is off-putting,
provocative, and yet at the same time “ever so”
appealing. You’ll be strangely drawn to this
play!
The Lewisville High School Drama
Department will perform "Moon Over
Buffalo" Feb. 11 - 13 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 14 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $6 and are available at the door.
Valentine’s Day
Rice Krispy Hearts
This colorful new twist on a classic treat
is a great gift for your child to give to
anyone she's sweet on this February 14.
Ingredients
* Cooking spray
* 3 tablespoons margarine
* 6 cups mini marshmallows
* Red food coloring
* 9 cups Rice Krispies cereal
* Heart-shaped cookie cutter
* Plastic bags, yarn
Instructions
1. Lightly coat a 10- by 15-inch baking sheet with cooking
spray and set it aside.
2. Melt the margarine in a large pot over low heat. Add the
marshmallows, stirring them continuously until they melt.
Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in drops of red food
coloring until the color receives a thumbs-up from the chef.
3. Add the Rice Krispies, stirring until they are evenly coated
with marshmallow. Spoon the mixture onto the baking
sheet.
4. With waxed paper (or lightly buttered hands), smooth out
the mixture, spreading it to an even thickness.
5. Cut out hearts with the cookie cutter. Place each heart in a
clear plastic bag, tie on a yarn bow, and they're ready for
giving. Makes seven 5-inch hearts.
