I can state without hesitation that he is one of the best we have worked with.” Bob Halley Personal Assistant to Elton John “Some of the best security experts in the business… Unmatched ability in security… Highest recommendation.” Cynthia Pett-Dante Brillstein-Grey Entertainment Beverly Hills, California “There’s something great about this firm. They fully understand celebrities, venues, locations and the public so we use them any time there's a mix of any of them. They’ll never tell us what to do or how many men they must have to do the job simply to crank the hours up, instead they guide us where needed, offer wise advice if applicable and then get down and get the job done right with the minimum of fuss or overt visual presence. There are a few options in this specific line of work but really there’s only one credible.” Tom Freud Atom Events If you’re looking for the service of a totally professional, experienced, hardworking, trustworthy, efficient, loyal security or close protection company, you need look no further than Celebrity Protection. In the Years that I have worked with them, they have proved themselves to be leaders in their field. I cannot recommend them more highly. Andy Franks Tour Manager Coldplay After a lifetime working in the entertainment / management business working alongside a variety of ‘celebrities’, I’ve witnessed first hand on many occasions the right and wrong way that ‘security’ can handle any given situation. Get it wrong and something that could have been easily diffused can just as easily be inflamed and soon be horribly out of control. Get it right and you are never aware anything was even smouldering in the first place. In a nutshell that is the difference between good and bad security management. On a personal level, you don't want to be looking around asking where the car or exit is, you want to be guided there before you’ve even asked. I don’t want someone making their physical presence known, creating an unnecessarily ugly scene, and thereby embarrassing my client. It’s at moments like this when you know you have the right people on the team or not. In short, if you’re looking for over inflated and intimidating muscle men in shiny suits that like to throw their weight around, Celebrity Protection Ltd are not for you. If you're looking for a discreet level of security and personal protection the way it should be done then look no further. The courtesy of Celebrity Protection Ltd, their efficiency and preparation is simply second to none. Needless to say, I simply cannot recommend Paul Dallanegra and his team highly enough. Andy Stephens Manager, George Michael March 22, 2006 Andy Frost Director Celebrity Protection, Ltd. Oxford House 49A Oxford Road Finsbury Park N4 3EY Dear Andy, I just wanted to say how grateful Emma and I were for your presence and person… we had no idea how crucial it was to feel secure in a place like Moscow. Whether you were escorting us in the elevator, scanning the room to safeguard her position or walking us through Red Square, you were always professional, kind and discreet. From our arrival to our departure, we felt as though we were in the hands of a true professional and a gentleman. Thank you again for all you brought to this journey for us and I wish you the best of continued success, in what must be a mysteriously demanding and rewarding career. Warmest Regards, Kathleen McGarry P.A. to Emma Thompson Comment ‘Men in Black’ offer service to the celebrities Our regular columnist Una Riley was so taken by the event security of Party in the Park in London, she found out more about the company responsible. S ome time ago I attended the Party in the Park on behalf of The Prince’s Trust. What was I doing there, you might ask? Which is exactly the question I was asking myself that day as the heavens opened and I became soaked to the skin. Well, it is all down to our 14-year-old daughter. It appears that it was going to be one of those occasions that could not be missed. So I found myself attending a concert… The first in many years. I have to admit it was different from the last one I attended. I always thought ‘live’ concerts meant that the artists got the opportunity to do just that… sing live. However, even established stars making their solo debut could only mime. I must be getting old or it could have been my imagination but it seemed the place rocked when more established performers did their thing! Despite the awful weather I enjoyed myself and it was really special to attend a ‘pop’ concert as a family. However, as usual my mind was never far from work and my attention was grabbed by the professionalism of the security team that was handling the VIP area. Even in the terrible weather conditions they were fulfilling their duty with panache, style and a huge smile. They were immaculately dressed in fashionable black suits and reminded me of the film Men in Black… They made the job look good! I was so impressed that I was determined to find out more and after the concert called The Prince’s Trust to discover which company provided security for the event. I was informed that there had been two separate organisations but the company that I was referring to were called CPL (Celebrity Protection Ltd). I proceeded to track them down. The Managing Director Paul Dallanegra agreed to be interviewed only because we are a trade (security) magazine and the fact that Jackie Jackson, Southern Manager who was in fact responsible for the ‘Party in the Park’ event, is a reader of Professional Security. Trying to catch up with Paul was easier said than done. We had to cancel our meeting a couple of times due to the fact that he had to zip off to LA. Who said this industry isn’t Professional SECURITY Magazine glamorous! When we finally met up Jackie came along to discuss the organisation. It was plain that here was a company endeavouring to be the epitome of professionalism. I asked how they started in this industry. “We both worked for the same organisation, where we were trained to the highest standard,” said Paul. The concept of CPL was established in the late 1980s, early 1990s by Paul after he identified that standards in this market niche had been eroded. Paul at this time went off to the States as a bodyguard to a famous client for five years. This was when the concept of his new company was formed. attendance. We are not the celebrities... our clients are.” I asked about the client base but they were adamant that no names be mentioned. That is indicative of their professional approach. However, some of their clients want to testify to the professionalism of this company. Katherine Willing, International Publicity on behalf of United International Pictures, said: “I have worked with Paul’s company on extensive world wide tours. Be it personal security (Pierce Brosnan, John Woo etc.) or event security, one can rest easy in the knowledge that their professionalism, discretion and good humour will never fail.” “CPL is a British company with a worldwide client list. We specialise in providing the highest standard of personal protection and security to clients working within the entertainment industry. We have brought together some of the most experienced and highly regarded professionals in this specialist business to provide a truly unique service,” Paul remarked enthusiastically. “We really get a buzz out of doing the job right. We get approached by some very big names that want us to take on their business but they are not prepared to pay the price. It is not that that we are financially orientated but we are committed to a service delivery that is second to none and we do not intend to compromise on quality under any circumstances. We take our work seriously. It is really important to us that CPL is regarded as the best… not the biggest.” Jackie went on to say: “Our clients appreciate that in order that we can create the secure environment that they require we have to establish good terms and conditions within the organisation that promotes quality ethics and reliability.” Leslie Pound, Senior Vice President of Paramount Pictures International Marketing stated: “Security for Torn Cruise and John Woo is top priority. To say we were pleased is an understatement. CPL handled everything in the most discreet and professional manner. The accolades go on and on. It was good to speak with a company that think that quality counts more than the bottom line and that their business is so important to them that it becomes part of their everyday life. This made me feel better about the fact that I seem to live, eat and breathe security. It was easy to interview this dynamic duo. Jackie looks as if she could be a singer or film star herself; however, she stated: “We know when we have done a good job when nobody notices we are in Apologies to Mr Pitt. I have since seen the film Meet Joe Black and with that in mind I think he should have the last testimonial to CPL. The reason I wanted to interview CPL was because they stood out as being consummate professionals. Unfortunately I am unable to produce a photograph, as they do not identify their staff because it is not conducive to their business. However, they are proud that their staff does not stand out in paparazzi pictures. Jackie took great pride in showing me a plethora of magazine articles from such mags as OK! and Hello. They had a young guy featured. Jackie said: “Tell me, can you see Paul in this picture for instance? The idea is that we blend in and become inconspicuous.” I studied the picture and identified Paul - but who is that celebrity? Is he a pop star, I asked? Both of them looked at me as if I was mad… “That is Brad Pitt,” said Paul. “Their knowledge and talent is truly exceptional, they are in a league of their own as security agents.” Brad Pitt, Actor.
