A Quick and Easy Guide to GECU’s Bill Pay If only all your chores were this easy! Bill Pay from GECU… It’s Fast! It’s Easy! It’s Free! Bill Pay is a free, secure service from GECU that allows you to conveniently pay your bills online from any computer in a matter of minutes. Pay anyone, anytime, anywhere in the U.S. – from mor tgage lenders to gardeners. You have complete control of your bills because you decide who you’re going to pay, when to pay, and how much to pay. Bill Pay Is Safe! How safe is it? - Let’s put it this way: You’re more likely to win the lottery than to have the security of a Bill Pay transaction compromised. That’s because Bill Pay uses the highest standards of encryption available. It’s guaranteed - Your Bill Pay transactions are protected by the same laws that protect you from credit card fraud, limiting your liability to a maximum of $50 for unauthorized use of your account. You’re also protected from late charges if a bill is not paid properly due to our error. Logging In Payment Center Connect to the Internet using a browser of your choice. (To use Bill Pay, your Internet browser must support 128-bit encryption.) Log on to SmartBranch® at www.gecu-ep.org using your User ID Number Click the “Bill Pay” tab (on the first row of options) to launch Bill Pay. Click “View and Pay Bills.” Work from the following toolbar by selecting the appropriate link. Pay Bills - Click here to make payments, view incoming e-bills, view and edit pending payments, and view all payments scheduled for the current month. Manage My Bills - Click here to update information on bills and set up automatic payments, e-bills, alerts and can also delete biller. Add A Bill - Click here to add a new bill to your bill paying list. My Accounts - Click here to view information on the checking account you selected to pay bills from or add another checking account. My Profile - Click here to view your profile data. Pay Bills Make payments, view incoming e-bills, pending payments and recently processed payments on this screen. View each bill in detail or quickly make several payments. n Identify automatic payments you have set up. Click the icon to edit your automatic payment settings. Enter payment amounts on this screen to make one or more payments. n n Select a payment due date from the pop-up calendar. (Only valid due dates can be selected.) Click the “Send Payment” button to submit payments. n n Incoming Bills – A special icon alerts you when an e-bill is due. Click the icon to view the bill in detail, or schedule a payment from the Payment Center page. n Cancel pending payments before they are processed by clicking the “Cancel” link. n Schedule Multiple Payments – Use this feature to pay multiple bills at one time. Your account information is already there - just fill in the amounts and payment dates to pay all your bills in minutes. You can schedule payments up to a year in advance. View Bill History Recent Payments All payments made in the current month are listed here. View Bill History – Click the “View Bill History” link at the bottom of the current month’s payments. n Select a date range for the period you wish to view and click the “Refresh” button. n Click “View Detail” to see more detail information about a specific payment. Click “Download to Quicken” to download information to Quicken (versions 2004 and earlier). Add A Bill Add A Bill With GECU’s Bill Pay, you can pay anyone, anytime, anywhere in the U.S., from national companies to individuals. Most large companies, such as credit card companies and department stores, accept electronic payments. You can even pay individuals you pay on a regular basis, such as your babysitter, gardener or anyone else you pay using a check. To Add A New Bill Choose whether you’ll be paying a company or an individual. n Enter the billing information, such as account number, address and phone number. n Click “Add Bill” or “Cancel”. n You’ll receive a confirmation that the bill has been added to your list. n Click “Finished”. n To add another bill, click “Add Bill” and repeat the process. n If the billing company can provide electronic bills instead of paper bills, and you would prefer to receive future bills electronically, just follow the prompts on the screen. n Manage My Bills Manage My Bills Using the Automatic Payment option of GECU’s Bill Pay gives you added convenience because you set up the payment schedule just once and all future payments require a quick click to approve. To Set Up An Automatic Payment: Click the “Manage My Bills” link to open the screen. n Select the company or individual from the drop down box you wish to pay using Automatic Payment. n Click “Add an Automatic Payment.” n Select the account you wish to make the payments from. n Enter: ◆ Payment Amount ◆ First Payment Date ◆ Payment Frequency n Determine when you want the payment to stop. n Schedule Repeating Payments Use this feature to pay regularly occurring bills for a set amount - your rent, tuition, or loan payments. Select a payee and fill in the amount, first payment date, frequency, and number of payments or indicate to pay until further notice. You can also specify a different amount for the final payment.
